I used to have Star Trek Armada. Still have a copy of Armada 2. If you can get hold of it, download the fleetops mod. You won't regret it.
Why? What does that do?

EDIT: Oops, forgot to add my own. I've got an old one for you, Castle Adventure. Old ASCII based graphics.
It's a mod for the game. Brings it up to more modern standards. The fleetops team have been working on it for years.
Is there a mod that makes the Borg sound like they did in the first Armada (ie more like the did in that actual show)?

Legacy of kain: Soul Reaver.

Why dose no one remember it?!
*raises hand* I remember it. I remember Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen as well.
Got demos of both via game magazines which I spent all my money on at the time. Could never afford to buy them at the time though - was still in school and my parents had quit buying me games and started spending all my Christmas money on three times as much clothing as I'd actually wear in the 6 months they fit me for.

Mine's got to be Shinobido: Way of the Ninja for PS2 and the PSP version, Shinobido: Tales of the Ninja - Still the only games since the PS2 came out which are actually about ninja.

And most people have forgotten (or missed) One Must Fall: 2097 as well.

I never played the first or third WBC's and as such have no basis for comparison, but I did really enjoy the bonuses to be had when you chose a class etc. And as I said in the first post the game could be better and I was referring in part to the gameplay - though not, I must admit to races - what new ones were included? And also what made the gameplay in the third so much better? How was it improved?

Well firstly they streamlined production buildings and balanced many units and amongst the new races = Plague (strongest caster hero in the game, has most intel and such), Ssrathi (snake/lizard/dinosaur race), Swarm (insects ...kinda) and I might have forgotten others + the game had a campaign. Actual campaign with a nice storyline. Oh and humans got split into 2 races: Knights and Empire. And there are sooooooooooooooooooooo many hero classes, over 20. Each with different skills and stats.

Primal. I can't remember if it was any good, though.

Also, Power Stone, which was good. So much crazy fun!
Primal was fucking bad ass, Jen was awesome.

Anyways, mine is..........

Clock Tower 3 and Echo Nights Beyond for PS2.

And for good measure, Chaos Legion.

such an awesome side scroller
*high fives* I fucking love this game, it was so unique and great. Fair enough it needed a bit of work, but the challenge was great and I applaud the limb they went out on to make it. I wish they would have made more in the series.

And I hope 'The 3rd Birthday' gets translated as well.

I, for one, remember it vividly. When I was a very young child, my mother was forever working the night shift, and my father worked away from home, so we'd often board at other's houses. During one such occurrence, my younger brother and I realized that one of the people we were living with, a college student, had an affinity for gaming. We watched him play Final Fantasy, and Resident Evil, and such...and then he played Parasite Eve...in front of us...when I was 5. Needless to say, I don't think I'd ever had such trouble sleeping during my early childhood. However, I remembered the game for years after, and once I found out what it was called, decided to look into it. A decent investment, too.
Now you two make ten I think. So.... it's official! This thread is now mine!!! And I declare it a Parasite Eve appreciation thread!

And if Wikipedia is to be trusted at all, "The 3rd Birthday" says it should be released in 2011. Crossing my fingers!

Gold Box SSI RPG series. No one remembers them and they were so light years ahead of other RPGs at the time. In fact they are still some of my fav RPGs period. The fact you could have your party grow in power over 4+ 100+ hour games was just win

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but "Tombi/Tomba" depending on localization. I only played the demo on an old ps1 disk, but it was great.

Hooray!!! :-D

*high five*
*high fives back*

Hopefully you have a PSP. That's the system they say they are releasing it for. And hopefully... they will re-release the first 2 on PSN to celebrate the new game release! :D

I personally liked Septerra Core- an old game (which featured the (rather sparse)soundtrack of... something O'Donnell, of Halo fame), which was very much like an americanised version of a JRPG. Look it up on TVtropes or Wikipedia if you can.
That was one of my first games for the computer and it was an amazing game. It was so awesome, it kept me trying other games like that which lead me getting Final Fantasy IX.
Other games I remember, but no one else seems to:
Bug (Sega Saturn)
Quest 64 (Nintendo 64)
Gex (Sega Saturn)
Vectorman (Sega Genesis)

I absolutely loved Evil Zone on PS1, but I've never met anyone else who's played it. Some of the story made absolutely no sense to me as a kid, but it was still damned good. Possibly the most dramatic beat-'em-up I've played.

Lol, I had the first croc game on PS1, then my brother broke it buy slamming the PS1 lid on it when he was putting it in.

Awww, too bad. That was one of the things that bugged me about Armada II, esp. since they'd pegged it so well in the first one. Same with the story really. Never did finish the story mode in Armada II.
