Kill.Switch. Oh you know, the game that invented TPS. But still anyone would rather say that every TPS is GRRRZ of War.

And this.... Well, I played it once at a random shoe store in the States and its never left my mind. I got to throw burning basketballs at giant spiders.

I was going to say Psi-Ops: The Mindgate conspiracy but I am sure plenty will point out they do; so I shall go with Bomberman Fantasy Race:

Primal Rage ate so many of my quarters when I was a kid. It was a 2D fighting game with dinosaurs.
I remember renting that for the Sega, I frigging loved that game.

I only played the demo, but I remember it.

I don't think it's that no one remembers it, but no one seems to talk about it.

Parasite Eve.

It had a big company, a sequel, a cool mix of Silent Hill type creepiness and action RPG goodness and it was well received by critics. Yet I hear people go on and on about Legend of Dragoon and other RPGs of that era, but no one ever gives Parasite Eve the love it deserves...
You have brought back one of the greatest memories that i have ever had as a child and also answered my question as to what the games name was (I was about 5-6 when i played) but thank you so much!
That's what I'm here for! Bringing back happy memories one mitochondria at a time.

And one more person quoting me and saying this is an awesome game and I think we can officially rename this thread the Parasite Eve thread.

Even if I have to fight you for it!

I preferred the Lion King game on the SNES. Heck, the Aladdin game was pretty good too. Now that I think about it... Disney games weren't too shabby on a whole.

And also, I don't remember the name, but a game where it was top down view, you could play as different greek heros / mythological creatures. (Herculese, Eros, The queen of the amazons) I think you had an inventory, and the graphics weren't great...I don't fully remember it evidently, but I really do wanna know!
You're thinking of Herc's Adventure for the PSX and Dreamcast.

The Elder Scrolls: Arena.

Many people seem to not realise this game exists and they start the "TES" series with Buggerfall.
And while Daggerfall is more fun in my oppinion (once you get past ALL the bugs in there it's a really fun and addicting game) Arena started the TES brand and of it's time is a pretty good game. Even if it's hard do control and understand.

I will confess to owning this, but not yet having played it. I'm currently on an 8-bit gaming binge that consists mostly of the Megaman games I never played as a kid, and am enjoying them thoroughly. I promise to all obscure game fans everywhere I will play it soon.

Also, I totally own a copy of Metal Wolf Chaos. I love it so.

That game was amazing. I had it on my Win98 machine as a kid. :D

Also, Shadow Warrior. From the creators of Duke Nukem 3D, an altogether more creative game. Just as fun, just as clever/crude, with a lot of great levels and things like that. My first FPS, in fact. Sadly, not many people remember it.

Sadly not, the graphics weren't great but, think more along the lines of Baldurs Gate 2 (on pc)

Severance: Blade of Darkness

Highly underrated, one of the best adventure RPG games I've played and probably the most gory, the dismemberment physics where also done very well and was overly satisfying to send bits flying off your enemies.

Rise of Nations. Such an underated RTS. It might even be my allt ime favorite game. But no one else cares.
Trust me, my RTS buff friend says it's one of the best he's played, and laments all the modern RTS's sucking.

Some really good mentions so far in this thread, like Freelancer, Abe's Exoddus, Dark Colony and so on.

I'd like to mention Dark Reign, an old RTS from -97 (correct me if I'm mistaken here). The first was an amazing game, while the sequel was so bad it's not worthy to mention in the same breath.

On a side note... Am I the only one who remembers Terminal Velocity or Fire Fight?
They made me think of games like Descent as well, and Shadow Warrior. Ah, the classics.

I feel old. =(

Anyone played this arcade rail shooter? It was truly an awesome rail shooter that stood out against all the other arcade games.
