I'll never forget how terrible I was at that game. But, man, did I love it.

While it was the shit back in the day and constantly talked about in the 1990's, no one these days is well-versed on the Zork series. I bring up a conversation and throw a Zork pun in there, and I just get weird looks.

This proves that aging only hurts.

If only more games were like Zork... Or 7th Guest... Or Loom. Man did I love Loom.

Primal Rage ate so many of my quarters when I was a kid. It was a 2D fighting game with dinosaurs.

And one more person quoting me and saying this is an awesome game and I think we can officially rename this thread the Parasite Eve thread.
Take a guess at what my favorite Square RPG is.

The Bouncer - PS2

Phantom Dust - Xbox
I played The Bouncer a loooooooong time ago, but I remember enjoying it. Phantom Dust is pretty cool too, great music. I wish it was easier to play multiplayer.

As for my contribution, did anybody else play the Animorphs game, the good one, for PC, not the crappy one on consoles.

Oh, thought of another game: hogs of War, it's like worms 3d, only you're pigs, and it's more awesome.

Blaze & Blade: Eternal Quest

I loved this game as a kid, and my memories of it are very vivid. But I've never heard someone mention it outside of my circle of friends.
It's somekind of a multiplayer JRPG, with alot of different classes, set in a medieval fantasy world.
I still have this game for PC haha, great game.

OT: Breakdown...I feel like I am the only one who still bothers to mention that game.

Close Combat: First to Fight, one of my favorite FPSs of all time.

And also, Freedom Fighters, no one I talk to knows what it is.
My friends and I would play Freedom Fighters all day, 2 vs 2 on a 15 inch screen, needless to say that was hard times, though we love to reminisce about it. I got really good with the sniper, so my friends hated it. But it was always fun to get all your recruits in a corner and have someone blow them away with the rocket launcher.

It's so elusive even I've forgetten it's name.

It was on the PS1 and it was like a 2.5D side scroller. You were a Jester if memory serves and you could hit people with your staff or throw bombs at them. I think there was a female character choice too. I bet no one has a clue. I wish someone did. Since now I'm going to be trying to remember it's name all damn night.

I've go a feeling it was something like Pandoria or pandorum.

Something like that.
You're thinking about Pandemonium.

Damn, I know way too many games. So far, I've only encountered 3 I didn't know. Anyway, anyone remember Omikron: The Nomad Soul?

Let's go!
I remember cheating the heck outta that game, it was really only my older brother who played it much, but it did a lot to influence my imagination!

The Chaos Engine

Side scrolling shooter for the Atari ST/Amiga type computers.

I'll be very impressed if anyone remembers that without the obligatory Google search.

Parasite Eve.

It had a big company, a sequel, a cool mix of Silent Hill type creepiness and action RPG goodness and it was well received by critics. Yet I hear people go on and on about Legend of Dragoon and other RPGs of that era, but no one ever gives Parasite Eve the love it deserves...
Never played the original but loved the sequel

As for another that, not really no one remembers but no one talks about is my favourite:

It spawned an internet meme for christ sakes! Yet still no sequel - how many r-types did we get?

Sega need to get that on xbox live arcade nonsense - it's acesome!

Burning Rangers. That game was fantastic. You shot fire with lasers. Never hear it mentioned any more.
Burning Rangers, another solid game that was probably missed by many people due to it being on the Saturn.

I don't know if anybody remembers Duality, intended to be released for the PC if my memory serves me correctly. It looked like it would have been a good game. It wouldn't be surprising if nobody really remembers it, seeing that it was never actually released.

My choice is Warlords Battlecry 2. It's an old skool hero-based fantasy RTS and there seems to be very few who've heard of it and even less who've played it. Admittedly it's not the best game out there, nor is it the most original but to kill time and conquer a fantasy realm it's pretty all good and I often find myself returning to it over and over again even though I'm not a massive RTS fan.

Tomba! - PSX

The Bouncer - PS2

Phantom Dust - Xbox

I hope someone recognizes something.
I think people don't remember "The Bouncer" for good reason. Namely, it was forgettable. Tomba! I definitely recognize, though I don't think I played it. I admint, I don't recognize Phantom Dust.

I never see anyone talk about the "Gothic" games. Make a topic, "Top Five favorite RPGs," maybe one person throws Gothic 1 or 2 in there. That astounds me. The Gothic games(the first two, at least) are easily some of the best RPGs ever and did more to advance the genre than the games that always show up on favorite RPG lists did. I'm looking at you, Final Fantasy 6 and Chrono Trigger.

I absolutely loved it!!! I even planned to play it again during the holidays, but I can't find it... *sniff* And the expansion disc is damaged in a very weird way.

Creatures. Nobody remembers Creatures. The best life simulator ever created and NOBODY seems to remember it even though it had a huge community when it came out.
Oh. My. God. I loved Creatures as a kid, Played it almost non-stop every time I went to my Grand Parents house.

Im going to go with Freedom Fighters. Such a fun and interesting game and I still think its one of the greatest shooters ever made.
