A realistic WWI Trench warfare simulator. Stand around in terrible conditions for ages, then get mowed down by a machine gun when your superiors finally send you over the top.

a WW2 shooter where you playu as a German or Japanese
You see, that's unlikely, because you know from the get go that you're fighting for an asshole who's going to loose anways. If you survive you get to go in front of a court and say "MY SUPERIORS TOLD ME TO DO IT" and if not, there's that touching picture of your wife and kids some existentialist Ally prick will pick up and feel sorry for your horribly mutilated corpse over.
I meant as a way too look at things from a different side not as pro Nazi

How about a dating sim in the Victorian era ?
Arrange marrige for your 4 daughters and try to get your son to be a priest.
How about Red Dwarf the game ?
( last really funny comedy space game were a textgame on the Amiga.)
How about Lexx the game ?
( last really funny erotic comedy space game were a textgame on the Amiga.)
How about huckleberry finn the game ?
Bully ,but in different time.

We also need more 1888 british redcoats in games, i played a horrible game once were you played with a team of brits on Mars in 1888 fighting green aliens.steampunk - scifi - alternate history. The idea is AWESOME!

Umm... Norse mythology?
See: Ragnarok Online, or Viking.

OT: A game set in Wales. I'd love to see that XD
But seriously; I'd love to see a real Steampunk game. That would rock. Or possibly one where you play as an Egyptian god of your choice, that isn't an RTS game. Or Ankh.

How about the historical battles of the Thracian's or maybe the Huns, theres gotta be something good out in there, right? Right?
No? Ah well, I've always dreamt of for example playing a 3rd person Roman Legionnaire battling through the endless hordes of barbarians...but it would probably be as monotonous as...well Dynasty warriors.

Ragnarok online. A MMORPG based on Norse mythology. ^_^
RO has about as much to do with mythology as it does with it's source material. RO is 'based' on the Ragnarok manhwa(Korean graphic novels), but takes almost nothing from it but the art style of Myung-Jin Lee and vaguely uses the names of some locations from Norse mythos. Last I played a year ago or so it still never expressly mentions a single figure from the actual mythos.

Nor does it's awful sequel that has yet to get an official English release.

The problem with all of these suggestions is that they've all been done. Barring, perhaps, an island inside Laurence Fishbournes pancreas and for some reason, the Falkland war.

I expect a lot of the posters have never had an Amiga (thats an old computer that came before the PC, if you're really young :) ), cause there was a shitload of games for the Amiga and also early PCs that covers pretty much everything suggested here.

And yes, I read through the entire thread. Seriously, I've seen all the games you think haven't been made :)
