Metal Gear Solid Rising is coming out soon. And people have been itching to play as a sword wielding stealthy cool guy. But Konami has now stated that it is possible to play through the ENTIRE game without killing ANYONE.

This is absolutely bizarre to me. They hand you a kickass sword, some amazing abilities and now they say "You know you don't have to use them, right?"
I know it's MGS and stealth is a big part of it, but should could you resist all the oppertunites to wreak havoc on unsuspecting enemies?

I don't think I could, but what about you guys?

EDIT: To get specific, you can slice weapons and hands and still get away with it. So you can still fight.

I wouldn't say pacifist the first time round, but maybe in a another play through I'd try to not kill.

Sure I could. It would add a new level of difficulty to the game.

I like it when developers give you the ability to restrain yourself during games, such as not having to kill anyone, not needing to use weapon x, etc. etc.

Ummm, correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you go through pretty much all the MGS games without killing any of the normal enemies? You know, just using stealth and tranquiliser darts to get past guards.

I like the freedom they're giving you, however at times I'm sure I'd be itching just to demolish even one guy...

In the first game you kill pretty much everyone if you want to take them down, unless you're willing to just punch them in the face. Stealth kills break their necks and there are no tranqs.

So it has to be a game that still has weapons and such?
Okay, my idea is out of the question. I was gonna say Animal Crossing.

Also, Swat 4. I never finished it though, so you might have to at one point, but I believe you can just arrest every suspect and not kill any of them.
No, you never have to kill anyone. Ever. In fact, if you do, the game calls you a loser and robs you of points.
OT: Eh... Football Manager?

If plants count as living things, A good many trees and flowers fell to my axe and shovel. No blood, though.

Mirror's Edge I'd say, sure you can beat their bones into shit, but you can alternatively pick up their guns and kill them, or not, you can just knock 'em off and keep your way

Only if you count taking ppl down using tranqs as "not killing" as I seem to remember you have to kill a few for the plot to advance.
Fallout 3 can prolly be completed by only killing one single person.
Morrowind could too.
