You only need to kill a very small number of people in Arcanum or Planescape: Torment. Less so in Arcanum, I guess, thanks to random encounters, but...

Oh, and Geneforge. Geneforge generally allows for no-kill runs. Fiendishly difficult ones, but still. Iji, too. And Iji makes a big point out of it.

So it has to be a game that still has weapons and such?
Okay, my idea is out of the question. I was gonna say Animal Crossing.
But what about the poor little fishies?

OT: I can't think of any.

Yes. Yes you can.
No, you have to kill 3 people.

Well, if you exploit bugs, only one person, but the other two count as dead, and the game still acts like you killed them.

OT: I was gonna suggest Deus Ex as well, and the Metal Gear rising is looking more and more interesting.
Actually, you don´t have to kill anyone, and there´s only one bug you have to exploit. Concerning Navarre
Most of the time you can simply run away from "boss battles". It´s true the game doesn´t really reward you from playing a pacifist, but it´s fun nonetheless. I usually play the pacifist on my second play-through (if the game allows it), since the first time is spent on getting to know your way around the game. Once familiar with the controls, the fun can begin.

Well you can still use the sword to cut fruit.

Anyways, you can Beat Mirror's Edge without killing anyone.

Portal (and probably Portal 2)

Oh and Batman:Arkham Asylum, though that's kind of a cheat in a way. Also it is a little suspect sometimes.

*Batman kicks a henchmen over a railing into a bottomless pit*

"Umm...Did Batman just kill that dude?"

Also I've been hearing that Obsidian is giving players the option the play though the entirety of Fallout: New Vegas without killing anyone, though I imagine it will be near impossible.

I once did a Dead Rising pacifist run?

I'm not exactly sure how the new MGS giving the character a capacity for pacifism is at all new or groundbreaking, it's far from being the first game to do this.
I didnt say it was a revoultionary idea, just a strange one given the abilities you have and the amount of effort they put into combat.
Even stranger than going through a zombie apocolypse with any manner of improvised weapons at your disposal without harming a single person, living or dead?

All three of the thief series to my knowledge (only played 2 & 3).
I believe you CAUSE deaths somewhere in the plot, but you dont have to kill anybody while playing

Personally, the first thing I do after putting it into my xbox is seeing how many peices I can get someone in BEFORE his first peice hits the ground

In Soldier of Fortune, you can shoot the gun out of their hand.

In Portal, there's no one to kill.

Likewise for Tetris.

If you can avoid the ghosts in Pac-Man, violence is not nessecary.

In RapeLay, if you're careful, no-one has to die depending, but that can vary depending on your view on abortion.

Only if you count taking ppl down using tranqs as "not killing" as I seem to remember you have to kill a few for the plot to advance.
Fallout 3 can prolly be completed by only killing one single person.
Morrowind could too.
Only Anna Navarre _has_ to die for the plot to advance, everybody else you can leave alive.
