Read that.
Read it now.
Its an incredible story.
And the tragic thing is... I doubt it will ever make it to the news anywhere in the world.

EDIT:

In an attempt to amend that...

I would encourage everyone who reads this to spread this story to as many people as possible.

Doesn't matter who or how.

People need to know.

Umm... what?

1. I think you mean "trope".
2. I don't see how a "trope" would help here.
3. you misspelled "adequately".
4. how much what?

I'm just glad it ended relatively well for them.

The spell check wouldn't give me "adequately" but I suppose you're right about trope (although I'm not sure what the difference is)
And that's just it, I couldn't figure out what. That was the sort of story you just don't dare hope is possible when you know humanity like I do.

Suffice to say, the New Syria cannot come soon enough.
A "meme" is something that is repeated over and over until it more or less becomes an integral part of culture.

A "trope" is well... go ask TV Tropes.com for that.

At any rate...

I would encourage everyone who reads this to share this story with as many people as possible.

This story deserves attention.

This girl and her father are truly amazing and that is a fantastic story. I hope that it does get coverage because they deserve it more than anyone else I've seen in the news recently.

that was sweet i got a strange feeling when reading it
unfortunately the media is far too concerned with the blood and guts in Syria to read this and i doubt they could even get near her to do an interview as the media loves to do

That is the most beautiful thing I've read in ages.

I really, really, REALLY hope this gets some news coverage. Anyone want to e-mail this link to CNN?

Well... I've emailed this to my Ops editor at my university's newspaper.

I want to make every last person who's ever called anyone else a fag on XBL read this. I want to make all the Mormon church leaders who spent millions of dollars making sure Prop 8 passed to read this.

That, my friends, is a real hero.

Remember, none of us are free until all of us are, and every time you oppress someone else you sow the seeds of your own oppression.
