Seriously, where did those eyes come from? They weren't there when he took it out of the microwave. And those first few pictures...I swear I thought it was something organic. It was scary.

I wholeheartedly support this. It wasn't just for the heck of it, he's an artist apparently.
And they're selling the thing on Ebay, and donating 25% of the final sale price to a charity, Oxfam I think. And seeing as it's been auctioned over $23k now, that's quite a lot of money.

The PS3 grew eyes because:
A. It's a fucking BEAST of a machine (pun intented)
B. It's possessed, to make it able to stand up to Metal Gear Solid 4
C. It had to cry from SOMEWHERE as it burned.

Holy crap monkeys that was awesome! I'm now a confirmed animist HOWEVER: I was hoping for proof of the "Spirited Away" kind, not PS3's are inhabited by Lovecraftian entities! What the hell inhabits my Wii??!?!?!? Should I be letting my daughter anywhere near it?!??

Anyway, you can't get cancer from a microwave. The wavelength of a microwave is over 1m, because of the structure of the protective stuff in the window (you know, a bunch of random holes?) a very minimal amount of radiation is able to escape, and even that amount wouldn't be enough (strength or quantitativly) to give someone cancer. It's only very rare occurences where cancer can be recieved from a microwave and even then it's nearly impossible to prove it (if at all)
Anyway! Why in the blue hell would anyone have a reason to oppose doing this?

1) someone who would play it regularly and treat it right
2) someone who would... play it every so often and not treat it that great
3) someone who destroyed it for the sake of lols, providing entertainment not only for them but for a large number of other people aswell.
