I imagine this would be the first place I would turn to if I needed questionnaires filled out, so I'm happy to help.

1. 10-25, depends on the college work, but usually around 15.

2. PS2, Wii, 360, DS, and PSP.

3. Console Gaming.

4. RPG.

5. $30, I try to wait for price drops

6. Physical copies, I just like to keep my disk case full.

7. I'm just as likely to buy into a new series as a known series. If a game interests me, I'll try it, having played other games in the series is irrelevant.

8. I would like a game to be challenging enough to be fun. A game I breeze through isn't worth the time.

1. How many hours a week do you spend playing Video Games

Too much time. Probably around 40+ hours a week.

2. Which Console(s) do you own?

Let's see. A PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS, PSP and a PS2. Oh, and a PC if that counts.

3. Do you prefer Pc gaming, or console gaming?

Console gaming simply because of how many of my games are on consoles.

4. What is your favourate game genre? (I.e FPS, RPG, Puzzle...)

I generally play any genra that will interest me but... Action Adventure seem to pop up the most in my collection.

5. How much do you normally spend on a game?

Up to $70.

6. Do you prefer buying physical copies of games, or Digital distribution?

I prefer having the physical copies, but I'm not against digital distribution. A couple of my PC games are right off of Steam.

7. Do you think you're more likely to be sequels to games than buy into unknown franchises?

Yes if I liked the original game simply because I'm more familiar with the material.

8. Do you enjoy games that try to challenge you?

Yes, but I enjoy those with an excellent story and engaging, fun gameplay a heck of a lot more.

I prefer my cookies in peanut butter flavour or of the soft gingerbread variety please. Oh and make those mittens extra warm for Canadian winters.

1. How many hours a week do you spend playing Video Games

10-25, most likely.

2. Which Console(s) do you own?

Current Gen: PS3, Xbox 360. Formerly owned a Wii, if it counts.

3. Do you prefer Pc gaming, or console gaming?

Console.

4. What is your favourate game genre? (I.e FPS, RPG, Puzzle...)

Does sandbox count as a genre? If not, probably RPG.

5. How much do you normally spend on a game?

30-40 average.

6. Do you prefer buying physical copies of games, or Digital distribution?

Physical. I'm not ready to sign what's left of my consumer rights away for a sweet deal.

7. Do you think you're more likely to be sequels to games than buy into unknown franchises?

I think I'm about as likely to buy sequels as I am new franchises.

8. Do you enjoy games that try to challenge you?

As long as the challenge encourages me to grow, rather than punishing me, yeah. I'd rather earn my victories, in real life and in entertainment.

1. 20-30

2. PC and Wii

3. PC Gaming FTW!

4. RPG, with Action/Adventures in 2nd and FPS in 3rd

5. For big titles, I'll usually pay full, launch-day price. Otherwise I like to get games on sale on Steam.

6. I've never seen the appeal of having a physical copy. Digital is so much more convenient (esp. since I don't have a car), and with Steam I'm not worried about getting screwed over either.

7. I don't judge. If it's a good series, I'll likely buy a sequel if it's up to par with the other games. If it's a new IP, I'll read reviews, and if it sounds worth my money, then I'll get that too.

8. Yes, but it's a fine line to walk between challenging and frustrating. I also don't mind if a game isn't challenging either, so long as I'm having fun, it doesn't really matter. Challenge can be a part of that fun if done right though.

Happy to help.

1. How many hours a week do you spend playing Video Games
Between 30 and 40, although that's dropped to about 20-30 now that I'm working again.

2. Which Console(s) do you own?
PC and Xbox 360

3. Do you prefer Pc gaming, or console gaming?
I prefer PC gaming, but I find that console gaming is more convenient, and Xbox Live has better online than PC.

4. What is your favourate game genre? (I.e FPS, RPG, Puzzle...)
FPS and Western RPGs.

5. How much do you normally spend on a game?
Usually about 35-50, although I've spent 80-100 to preorder Black Ops and New Vegas.

6. Do you prefer buying physical copies of games, or Digital distribution?
Physical copies. Although they're harder to replace, I love going out to the store, paying for a game, carrying it home in its bag, reading the manual, putting in the disk, etc, etc.

7. Do you think you're more likely to be sequels to games than buy into unknown franchises?
It's about even for me. I usually rent games before buying them, so it's rarely an issue for me.

8. Do you enjoy games that try to challenge you?
Depends. Sometimes I want a challenge (S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Call Of Duty on Veteran), and sometimes I just want mindless, fast, fun action (L4D, Mirror's Edge, Call of Duty on an easier difficulty).

*awaits cookie with great anticipation*

1. 20 hours. I'm a freshman in college with a lot of freetime.

2. Nes,Snes,N64,Sega Genesis, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS Lite, Playstation 2, Gamecube, Laptop.

3. Console Gaming

4. Side-Scrolling, Rpg, Arcade, Fighting, Platformer, Adventure, Hack 'n Slash (any combination of those mentioned)

5. 20-30 dollars used

6. Physical Copies. Never paid for digital distribution

7. Most likely.

8. Yes. Because I've been playing video games since the age of 4, I've kinda developed some kind of "instinct" when playing games so I need some kind of challenge every now and then.

1. Not many. 12 hours if I'm lucky, I guess.
2. I don't own any, but my brother does. Don't use them though.
3. PC gaming all the way.
4. The games I play are mainly RPGs and shooters.
5. The most I've spent on a game is around $110 AUD - games are pretty expensive in Australia.
6. Physical copies, for the most part, although if I can't get a game instore, then I don't mind going on Steam to find it.
7. I don't favour one over the other, unless I'm a huge fan of the first game and am looking forward to the sequel. But I usually read reviews and the like before buying a game (see above re: the price of Aussie games) so that has more influence over whether or not I buy a game.
8. What's the point of games otherwise? If I wanted a mindnumbing part-time job, I'd get one. Those actually result in disposable income. Gaming just sucks up all your disposable income. May as well get something out of it.

1. How many hours a week do you spend playing Video Games? Generally, it's between as little as 2 to maybe 15 hours a week. It really depends on how much free time I have and how engaged I am in the game I'm playing.

2. Which Console(s) do you own? PS2, PS3, DS, and PSP

3. Do you prefer PC gaming, or console gaming? Definitely console.

4. What is your favourate game genre? Either RPGs (including JRPGs) or Survival Horrors.

5. How much do you normally spend on a game? Er, depends on the game. I typically play long enough for one play through unless I just loved it, but it's rare that I play a game more than once.

6. Do you prefer buying physical copies of games, or Digital distribution? Physical copies. I'll dish out the extra money if I need to do have the actual game versus a downloaded copy.

7. Do you think you're more likely to be sequels to games than buy into unknown franchises? No, not really. I pick up obscure unheard-of titles all the time and they usually end up as some of my favorites. I'd say it's about the same between the two.

8. Do you enjoy games that try to challenge you? Yes, but only to a certain extent. If it's rock hard challenge after challenge, I'll probably give up. Challenges are nice, but I also like to enjoy myself in a game. I prefer challenges that actually feel like there's a way to beat them, it's just a matter of finding it. I tend to give up on games that give my "challenges" that are really just a matter of getting lucky, having enough potions, having to level grind, whatever else. (If that part makes sense)

Well hey there Escapist.

I'm currently enrolled in a two year course on the subject of Video Game Production. As part of my Research coursework i've been asked to get people to fill out questionnaires, this however would require me standing on a freezing street corner making a fool of myself. So i plead to you Escapist, spare a moment of your time and keep me off the streets. You know it's safer that way.

1. How many hours a week do you spend playing Video Games

2. Which Console(s) do you own?

3. Do you prefer Pc gaming, or console gaming?

4. What is your favourate game genre? (I.e FPS, RPG, Puzzle...)

5. How much do you normally spend on a game?

6. Do you prefer buying physical copies of games, or Digital distribution?

7. Do you think you're more likely to be sequels to games than buy into unknown franchises?

8. Do you enjoy games that try to challenge you?

Free cookie and mittens for answering
Aww... frick...
this will take awhile...

1. 2-5 hours/day
2. crap... everything but PS2, PS3, PSP, Original Xbox, that taco-phone thing, and 3DO
3. PC all the way
4. umm... I like RPG's the best but it's so hard to find good ones, I've been going to RTS/FPS
5. how much do I spend?... umm... money wise? nothing over $15 (except SC2/MvC3) how much TIME do I spend on 1 game? about until I unlock EVERYTHING! (minus zelda and all the freaking heart pieces...)
6. I like digital a lot better; I hate switching disks... (yay WiiWare/Steam/XBLA)
7. unknown games... No More Heroes > God of War; PainKiller > Halo; and well you kinda see how that goes (yeah I hate most modern games... well about half)
8. HECK YES! **feels like the only person that beat Contra without the code... same with battletoads... single player... used cheats for 2 player... freaking team killer**

1. How many hours a week do you spend playing Video Games
I really don't have a regular schedule, but if I had to make up an average... maybe 6?

2. Which Console(s) do you own?
Atari 2600, NES, SNES, Sega Dreamcast, PSone, PS2, PS3
Do handhelds count? If so: Game Boy Advance SP, DS, PSP

3. Do you prefer Pc gaming, or console gaming?
PC

4. What is your favourate game genre? (I.e FPS, RPG, Puzzle...)
Hybridized RPGs

5. How much do you normally spend on a game?
Depends on the game. Anywhere from a half hour and never picked up again to many hundred hours... If I had to make up an average for games I actually enjoy enough to finish... 30 (accounting for short action games).

6. Do you prefer buying physical copies of games, or Digital distribution?
Physical copies

7. Do you think you're more likely to buy sequels to games than buy into unknown franchises?
Depends on how you define "unknown". I always research games extensively before I buy them, and I tend to buy more stand-alone single titles than sequels.

8. Do you enjoy games that try to challenge you?
Yes... usually. If the challenge "makes sense" to me... completely arbitrary rules that create artificial challenge for the sake of simple game design tend to annoy me, though.

1. How many hours a week do you spend playing Video Games
I never keep track.
2. Which Console(s) do you own?
Nintendo 64, Playstation 2, Xbox 360
3. Do you prefer Pc gaming, or console gaming?
I've never really done any PC gaming, so I don't have much of a preference.
4. What is your favourate game genre? (I.e FPS, RPG, Puzzle...)
FPS, RPG, Racing
5. How much do you normally spend on a game?
60-100 dollars
6. Do you prefer buying physical copies of games, or Digital distribution?
Physical.
7. Do you think you're more likely to be sequels to games than buy into unknown franchises?
I'm not really sure.
8. Do you enjoy games that try to challenge you?
Where's the fun in games that don't provide a challenge?

1. 10 if I'm lucky, zero if I'm not, just depends on how busy work gets.

2. None. The last console I owned was a Vectrex! (Showing my age here... that thing kicked ass too but was never utilised to anywhere near its full potential)

3. PC.

4. RPG.

5. I won't typically spend over $20 AUS, and absolutely no more than $50 AUS.

6. Digital. I'd prefer physical if it wasn't for the scourge upon gaming that is the CD Key.

7. I'm likely to research what I buy whether it's a sequel or not. I've been burned with a few sequels lately so I'm careful now.

8. That's a silly question in its current form because all games try and challenge the player. You need to be more specific if you want that question to actually mean anything.

4. RTS, FPS being dangerously close.

5. 100-130. I live in NZ you see...

6. Retail and Physical for me thanks.

7. Doesn't make sense but I guess so, but I try and get the Demo and read reviews.

8. Of course! As long as it's fair and not too hard.

3. Do you prefer Pc gaming, or console gaming?

PC. I like modding

4. What is your favourate game genre? (I.e FPS, RPG, Puzzle...)

RPGs, Tactical RPGs, RTS, Grand Strategy.

5. How much do you normally spend on a game?

Depends on the game.

6. Do you prefer buying physical copies of games, or Digital distribution?

7. Do you think you're more likely to be sequels to games than buy into unknown franchises?

Depends on the game genre.

8. Do you enjoy games that try to challenge you?

If a game doesn't challenge me, it isn't a game.
