A music genre/artist that you secretly enjoy

Hello there my good Escapees, your tired yet still mostly friendly Sister of Battle here.

So this thoughts been bouncing around in my head for a while, there's tons of music I listen too, a lot of it in public and with friends, I did however notice that I always skip songs that I love when with friends, and thinking about it more and more I noticed they were all of one particular genre. So I have to wonder, do other people do that? Do other people out there secretly, whether intentionally or not, avoid certain genres or artists around friends because they may not approve? Then I realized that that was obviously the case, so I decided to ask you, my second favorite batch of human-like entities in the world. So, IS there a specific genre/artist that you avoid listening to in company? If so, who is it and why?

TLDR: READ IT! Or I swear to the Emperor I will unleash the might of the entire Adeptas Sororitas Upon tyou.

Well, I always listen to rock and the likes, and I don't care if my friends don't approve of that ("Boohoo you always listen to rock like BLAH WAR BLAH BLOOH BLAH"), because they'll listen to anything, from the Black Eyed Peas and Ke$ha to Red Hot Chili Peppers. So no, there's no genre I secretly enjoy.

I...I actually enjoy Rebecca Black. Her new song makes me smile and the simplicity of Friday makes me giggle. I listen to it unironically.

My mum raised me to love music, I'm unashamedly fond of pretty much every genre, including unmanly ones like pop & hip-hop.

Having said that, I'll never let anyone catch me watching Hatsune Miku videos. NEVER.

I enjoy Klezmer music and I know only one other person who does. I guess that's the sort of thing I wouldn't openly admit to....

I grew up listening to a lot of stuff from the '60s (my mom's a total hippie), so I have a very secret fondness for The Mamas and the Papas, Bob Dylan, and the like. >_> this contrasts terribly with my rocker/JPopper exterior.

I like some mainstream pop. Mostly because the only thing I care about in music is the actual music, so when a melody is catchy, I like it, no matter what it is.

Unless the lyrics are actually clever. But that's a different story.

Theres certain genres and bands that I don't play around certain friends because they don't enjoy it. That doesn't mean I enjoy them secretly my friends know that I like these bands I just don't listen to them when they're around. Not because I'm ashamed that I like them, or anything like that its because I'd be the only one enjoying them. We do have common ground on some of the bands, but for the most part we are worlds apart with the music genres we enjoy.

For example I like bands like The Flaming Lips, The White Stripes, Arcade Fire, Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Battles, Arctic Monkeys, Beach House, etc. While my friends like bands like Enter Shikari, Suicide Silence, Four Year Strong, etc. My friends get excited for Warped Tour while I scoff and laugh at the prospect of going to such an event.

My point is I don't secretly enjoy any music genres. I just don't listen to them around friends because it would only be enjoyable for me and no one else.

I tend to get stereotyped as a metalhead (due in part to me being a rather stereotypical metalhead) but I listen to a lot of music ranging from blues to jazz by way of Kraftwerk. My guilty pleasure though?
