What about OnLive? Didn't that flop?
They're now saying people should use it to demo games - except you have to pay for it when normally released demos are free. Not to mention that a major reason I use a demo is to test my hardware against it, and with huge sense of irony OnLive can't offer that.

OT: If Apple made a console it'd probably negate the point of playing on a console (because it's cheap).
Yeah, OnLive didn't look too good.
Oh, and previously stated, Apple did make a console, it was expensive and rubbish.

God no i don't want apple to make a console you'd need a mortgage just to afford one judging by how overpriced all there other crap is! And then they'd probably update it yearly and leave early adopters with a slightly gimped machine.

I'd love to see something designed by Valve, Unreal and EA. maybe a console and a game. using the Unreal or Crytek engine

Apple, the I-console?
I can see it now, I will cost $1,200 and be really flashy with the power of the Wii and a new version would come out every 2 months.

and still people will flock to it like sheep.

Lockheed Martin all the way. You know you want a console based on cutting edge, military grade hardware. Or most any advanced military gear producer... Dassault or someone like that.

BioWare! A console geared entirely towards lengthly, immersive story-driven RPGs. The twitch-shooter crowd can fuck off ;-)

You took the words right out of my mind, I got enough apple tech in my house that i got in the last year, that's already in their eyes obsolete. I would have to say Valve, should make a new console

I've got to wonder what valve would make. Something no doubt beyond my comprehension.

On the apple issue: they already seem to be trying to market iOS as a gaming platform
On topic: I would like to see a game system by Festo http://www.festo.com/net/startpage/ due to the work they do on AI

If AMD decided to make a console it would be a huge deal since they already manufacture CPUs and Graphics chips but I don't think that they are big enough as a company. Dell are more likely to make something like a console.

AMD or Nvidia coming out with their own consoles would be pretty sweet. At least there'd be a chance you could play your PC games on it, and a much higher chance of PC-Console multiplayer.

That would be fun, especially if it had PC-console connectivity and keyboard compatability.

Y'know, have the console set up on your TV with gamepad, then a wireless connection to your PC (Or some kind of connection, anyway), so you could stream games/install them on the console from the PC . Like Onlive, but not shit.

It would be even better if it worked with Steam.

So maybe one day you have a day off and decide to get all hardcore, and spend some time on PC with SupCom or STALKER, but another day, you want to relax, so you pull your steam copy of Alien Swarm or Plants Vs Zombies on to the console.

Of course, that's a crazy idea. No-one would do that. Well, no-one would do it well.

I'd probably buy that. Plus, it might stop those PC vs con... BWAHAHAHA, nah.

Personally I would love to see Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo and PC's all combine into one universal console, which caters equally for all types of gamer and with a universal online system. We shouldn't let hardware and software divide us as a people.
PC with a 360 gamepad is as close as that idea is going to come for a long while.
