Attention:

Large manufacture companies are dumping their waste in rivers and lakes, some are even dumping chemicals. They argue there's no law against it, and it's easier then a landfill.

What are your actions?

[b]Representative Pox and the high council has today discussed the matter about companies' perfidious act of dumping industrial waste in our mighty rivers and lakes.[/b]

After a long day of discussing the council came to a decision. These companies are to be nationalized with immediate effect, as they have proven to be immoral and illicit. The employees of said companies will remain, and have roughly the same working conditions. The top boards of said companies will however be put in custody, awaiting trial. This is yet another example of the evils of capitalism and why we should only let it exist in miniature and under controlled forms, and at the same time this is a victory for the environment and for the working class!

Chairman Pox also personally thanks Premier Maddajii and The Great Sammilon for their brotherly support during the resent storm crisis. We can only hope that the future will give us opportunity to repay this kindness.

The Duke calls a meeting of the heads of all polluting companies, under heavy compulsion. Of the Twelve called, two ignore the summons; their assets are immediately seized in the name of the Duke.

To those who did arrive, the Duke makes an announcement: All pollution of this sort is to be stopped immediately. Our industries were already profitable, so our country will not suffer by the extra expense, and indeed there will be a weight of it's back as we free it's waterways.

All the offending companies are ordered to pay, collectively, three quarters of the costs to clear the polluted areas, while the last quarter comes form the Dukes own coffers

Chairman Pox accepts this Mr. Shannow, as a representative for the Drenai, as long as he do not spread his fascist lies among the people. He secretly dispatches a group of the secret police to watch Shannow's every move.

Chairman Pox sends out his top spy and right hand, Comrade Wilkins, to the Duke to act as an ambassador and negotiator.

"The environment is very important to the Sage Nation, the waters most importantly. By poisoning our waters, you are poisoning every person of this nation, and that will not be tolerated. As of now, dumping waste product into the waters of this nation is prohibited. Reparation payments will be taken from each company for a set number of years until the results of your actions have been reversed."

I response to the companies dumping their waste into the water, laws have been passed to prevent and persecute anyone who does. Teams have been sent out to try and clean up all affected areas as best as they can, and new safe methods of disposing waste are being developed and prevent this sort of thing from happening again.

The Premier of Congaire Adam Maddajii makes a public announcement to the people.

My fellow Congairans, as been recently televised and published across many newspapers, many big factories have dumped their waste into the rivers of Congaire. I do not believe that is right. By dumping the waste into those rivers, they could tamper with the local ecosystem or worse.

I have consulted with the factories on this matter and though I do understand their concerns about cutting cost, the dumping is far too dangerous and unsanitary to be allowed. I have talked to them and have asked them to find other possible solutions other then that. While there, I have kept in mind the workers and asked them to only cut salaries and lay off the lower workers as a last possible solution.

Business must serve the government and by destroying our natural foundations, they are threatening our Leader and our people. I will not stand by as this happens. Now I call out to those CEOs, those business men that dare destroy our nation. They are given one week to halt all dumping measures. So I decree it, so it is law. Thank you.

These businessmen are smart. I want them put into our trade department. Make them work towards giving us an advantage in trade negotiations. This is best for the nation.
