Ok, walk home, see this sitting on the sidewalk, what do?
...Walking home.
...
You live in Ottawa, correct (going by your profile, here...)? That's really insane.
I know some people in Ottawa, and I didn't think it was that sketchy...
I mean, sure, buses late at night can be sketch but... Honestly?

Congratulations, man. You've got me speechless.
Though, it might change how you react to it, depending on where in Ottawa you live.
I mean, if you're near a lot of butcheries (or, for some reason, Lebreton Flats), I wouldn't be nearly as surprised as if it were say... Barrhaven.

...But yeah, that's really, really weird...
Call the police about it?
I live out in Kanata Lakes, the middle of the suburbs, so it's not like those parts of town. And there aren't any butcheries near it.

you say it was stiff as a rock?
perhaps it was fake?
Said it several times, not fake. I wouldn't call it rock hard, but it was quite tough from the looks of it. That was probably because it was frozen though so yeah.

And it wasn't fake, there was blood in the snow beneath it.

Anyone else reminded of that scene from Rat Race with the transplant heart that gets dropped out the car window?
One of the first things that came to mind for me. Except I'm in Canada...

That happened in K-Town?
That's extremely weird...

Although, that just gives us more proof:
Suburbs: More sketchy than you'd think.

And don't forget, this was well within a kilometer of the school.

You can buy pigs hearts at butchers.
Not sure how different they look though, I only kill pigs from a distance.

Should have taken it home, in a lunchbox.

Edit: Glad you didn't jump to the conclusion it was a human heart. :)
This.

It can't be a human heart, because both paramedics and serial killers are WAY too careful about body parts to just drop one (serial killers don't want to leave evidence, and paramedics would lose their patient and get sued into oblivion). Plus, if it had been a serial killer there would be blood everywhere, and it probably wouldn't have been too neatly cut out. Gotta be a butcher. Maybe a cow's heart--I think they sell those as well?

This probably ranks as the weirdest post I've typed in a good long time, so congratulations for that.

It may be just a sheep heart from the butcher's. Now, why it's on the ground is beyond me.

You found a.....heart lying on the ground?

That's really fucked up. Does it actually look like a human heart? Try comparing it to some images from Google or something. If it is a human heart I think you should tell the Police or something.

Though even if it is an animal heart, how did it end up lying on the ground?

EDIT: Also, are you sure it is a real heat? Someone might just be pulling a prank on you.
Yes, it was definetly a real heart. Considering that we kicked the heart over and saw some blood mixed with the snow underneath it, it was certainly real.

I'm not sure what animal it was, but I'm pretty sure it was an animal one, or else Rat Race took place in Canada.
Haha. Rat Race reference FTW. :p

Well, I'd take that as a given, seeing how most suburbs have schools built in.
I mean, where I am, there's four high schools within a ten minute distance from each other.
Only one is Catholic, the other are all public.
Gotta love cities.

Well since you said it was outside the school, possibly some kid stole it from the biology department, because when I disected a sheep heart they had to defrost it first.

Currently in Biology. We're not doing disections yet, at least not our Grade (11). And from how it's set up, I think our teacher probably would have told us if the Grade 12 class was doing it. I'll ask tomorrow though.

See what I mean when I said I had no idea where it came from?
