I was in one of my classes today, and I over heard a freshman saying something that caught my attention,

He said "Drunk words are sober thoughts"

Has anyone ever said anything that you took to heart and listen too?

True. Although, sober thoughts sometimes aren't meant to be said. Thats why it takes a little alcohol to loose them.

As for things i've heard, i'd have to say probably...

FACT: putting the word FACT at the beginning of a sentence does not make the fallowing sentence so.

Whats the point in revenge? Eventually some one will take vengeance on you then one of your friends will take it out on that guy and so on.

This one came from my cousin:

"Procrastination is like masturbation: All well and good, but one day you'll wake up and realize that you're just screwing yourself over."

And my lieutenant from military training said this one:

"Excuses are like a**holes: everyone has one and I'm interested in neither"

Both should be pretty self explanatory.

No matter WHAT situation you're in, there's NOTHING a bit of yogurt and chocolate won't fix.

I got me a rock'n'roll band, its a free for all! [plays air guitar]

The only thing like that I have is that ridiculous saying, 'wherever you go there you are'. always makes me laugh at least.

One of the few pieces of useful advice my Dad gave me;

"Forgiveness is easier to get than permission."

My father once told me that it's incredibly easy to lose yourself, and so very difficult to find it.

Stay on the righteous path, and always have self-confidence.

Now that's a motto I may have to test out.

My one is: There is never too much of a good thing, only inadequacy on your part.

I was upset over something once and a friend of mine didn't know what to do as he's awkward in those situations so he said, 'As Jesus said at the last supper, "Fuck it"'.

A positive attitude may not make you feel any better, but it will piss people off enough to make it worth the effort.

;) We aim to please, lads.

Another few I remember (that I have also kinda taken to heart);

"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

"If nothing else works, sheer pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through!"

"Bad habits are like herpes, if you dont do something fast, they will keep coming back"

My personal favorite and the motto my life is based on
"Never put anything before your pride, protect your pride first because in the end, pride is the only thing you will have left"

Reminds me of a thing I like to say when people get bitchy, "People say I'm an angry drunk. They're wrong. I'm an angry sobre and a vocal drunk."

I often use it to see who is going to be unlikely to leap to offence mode.
