Ahh, fair point. I'm not overly concerned with maximizing culture, outside of what's needed to reasonably acquire tiles within 3 hexes of a city. Which policy seems the most Giant Robot friendly to you? :D

Thing is, culture in general isn't that useful for giant robots. I'm thinking the end goal here is domination through science, and in that case more cities are more important. The way I see it, culture's simply better off sacrificed for the benefits of science. Therefore I'd say go for the liberty tree.

Western scout unit: Scout the area around the wonder to see if future settlement is appropriate.
Other units: Continue as previously instructed.
Policy selection: Liberty.

There's a mess of barbarians down there. The warrior will take multiple rounds to kill any of them, and then will have to heal up for almost as long (unless it levels into a heal).

Is it better to just have the warrior keep scouting south? The city can spawn an archer if it needs defense, and the map is so huge that slowing down scouting will hurt (as seen by all the ruins we've sniped from our neighbors). The turbo bowman can kite and snipe the barbarians in this area for some nice XP I think.

Or have the bowman soften up the camp, and try to finish it off with the warrior?

I usually go for this option. Since we have honor, we get culture for every barbarian killed, so to get rid of them as fast as possible, and also level the troops, seems like a good idea. Keep in mind to damage the primitives with the archer before going in with the warrior, since they get weaker when they're damaged.

Bing out of character for now im just going to be frank and state i have no clue about Civ 5. When i said a couple of pages ago why its never a doomsday device in the ruins i seriously didnt think you actually could get advanced weapons out of ruins.

I think ill spend the next few turns getting clued up by a wiki, or something.

Apparently if you hit enough of that bonus, you can get mechanized infantry [http://civilization.wikia.com/wiki/Mechanized_infantry_%28Civ5%29] or the units leading up to it really early. :D Though usually the only way to do that is save and reload until you get the right bonus.

You could try the demo, it lets you play the full game in a set scenario for 150 turns, that's how I first fell in love with the game, I'd just keep playing the demo over and over. Then it went on sale during the steam summer sale. I still don't have the expansion though, I feel it's too expensive.

Oops, just wanted to let you know that my 5 key messed up, and the demo is far lengthier than my original comment indicated.

You can't do that anymore in Civ 5 GnK though. In Vanilla, if you manage to pop two ruins with weapons using your warrior within 10 turns, you have a Rifleman that can ravage everyone around you. In GnK, IIRC, you can only get one unit upgrade for if a unit pops a ruin (he won't get upgraded through ruins again).

Babylon needs to go Tall in order to make the most of their unique ability. They can get scientists faster than anyone else, meaning they need science specialists, which requires a lot of population if you don't want to cripple your cities. This is also why you need to get Writing ASAP. Free scientist to settle is +8 science quite early on (+10 later on). That bonus quite early on will give you a MASSIVE advantage at that difficulty.

If you want a wide science game, go for the Mayans.

You will need a military unit to get back that worker to the cause. Either return the warrior and bowman or train/purchase a new one. Granaries for more food (meatbags getting busier still). Settler on the tile SE (on the oasis) of the natural wonder (Mt. Sinai I believe), and get Desert Folklore Pantheon if able.

The Settlers may translate their position south and to the west, so that they may further the potentiality for dominion to lands beyond the mountain range, particularly over known local equine populations.

Warrior may translate south and east after eliminating potential barbaric threats to the latest population furtherance, potentially to investigate further into the unknown.

Loxemberg may initiate production of one worker-class citizen unit.

I believe the city purchased a bowman that can run out to reclaim the worker. Also, I'm not positive, but isn't there a production bonus for settling on a hill?

Settling on the tile East of the Natural wonder is also good. Not necessarily a bonus, but the city gets the properties of the tile it settled on. If you settle on a hill, the city will get +2 production. I was just going by the minimum city distance. Man, if you could get a Petra (Wonder from Currency) there, it would become quite a monster city. It would probably even grow more than your capital. Plus it's next to a mountain, (Mount Sinai), so you can desecrate it by building an Observatory later on for more Science!

Oh fancy!

Also note, the tile selected in the screenshot is within 3 (max workable distance) hexes of the cows to the south and the sheep to the northwest, along with the areas (oasis tiles primarily) around the mountain. The tile directly west of the mountain would be able to reach the silver up north though...

Edit: Just read up on the Observatory [http://civilization.wikia.com/wiki/Observatory_%28Civ5%29] - that spot to the west of the mountain can hit the silver up north and build an Observatory later. Could run the Great Scientist from Writing down here for his build as well.
