Does anyone else feel like the "non-lethal" approach in Human Revolutions really isn't all that non-lethal? Look at all these guys you're incapacitating. You're bludgeoning them in the head with your alloy fists. You're crushing their windpipes with choke holds. You're collapsing them like accordions with massive blows to their mid section. And most alarmingly, once down, they tend to stay down indefinitely unless roused.

That's a sign of serious internal damage. If you get "knocked out" by a hard blow to the head and don't almost immediately regain conciousness the odds are you're suffering from intercranial bleeding or a traumatic brain injury. At the very least, you likely have an extremely severe concussion, not to mention internal bleeding from the ruthless beating you took, and possibly lacerated organs from broken ribs, etc. And I tell you, I come back hours later and these people STILL haven't received medical attention, they're just folded up wherever I left them, arms and legs akimbo.

At least when you're shooting them, you're giving them a nice clean death, and not leaving a trail of vegetables and paraplegics in your wake.

"Non-lethal" players, you are truly monsters.

I think you're over-thinking this a bit, given they have the exact same reaction to a tranquilizer dart or a stun gun shot.

Surely they can just get augments to survive and then come after you for revenge. Hello HR2.

Actually, more often than I care to admit, I hold the spacebar a bit too long and end up doing the fatal takedown instead. I guess that's supposed to speak to the thin line between life and death?

You know it's not real right?

That bloke you just beat to shit isn't looking at long term damage to his vertebrae. The still conscious ones don't wheel their friends off to casualty when you're not looking.

Sorry to point out the obvious in a sarcastic manner but it irks me when people try and put real life things like bodily damage into a bloody game.

They can't suffer serious internal damage because they are just pixels.

If the game registers it as a non lethal takedown then thats exactly what it is.

Because it amuses me to be fussed about it. Those poor soldiers. Just trying to earn a wage. They have families, maybe wives and children. Maybe one of them is saving up for his first real vacation, or to take the dog in for surgery, or maybe he volunteers for a homeless shelter on his weekends. So here they are, just killing hours, trying to get through their work day, and some mustachioed cyborg in a floral trench coat beats them senseless, and they spend the rest of their lives in a semi-vegetative state with massive brain damage so he could rummage around in whatever office they were guarding, looking for candy bars.

They aren't...real.

But if that bothers you so much, just imagine they get Augs to replace broken body parts and internal injuries.

It's a video game, everybody knows that getting knocked unconscious in a video game is just like taking a nap, that's why they only get back up once their teammates rouse them, and also why when they get back up they're perfectly fine.

Non-lethal is practically being on their side, it's giving them an excuse to take a nap on the job.

I think you should really be more worried about that one takedown in which Jensen breaks guys arm and if someone wakes him up its fine already, now thats weird and problematic.

I have been trying to do a non-lethal play through but every time I knock someone out and its one of the animations where Adam appears to be breaking the soldiers arm if his friend finds him he will just get back up with no indication that I shattered his arm. The same with the tranq rifle I don't if your magic and can wake someone up from a coma. WHEN I PUT A DART THAT COULD STOP AN ELEPHANT IN YOUR NECK YOU DO NOT JUST WAKE UP IF SOMEONE SHAKES YOU FOR A SECOND.

It's adrenalin. Every minute he's up and running around with that arm, he's doing terrible structural and muscular damage that can never be repaired on a security guard's salary!

That's why he files for worker's compensation! Its why I go out of my way to subdue the crap out of every guard I see. Not only is it non-violent and efficient, but think of the huge medical bills I'm racking up for the bad guys!

Lethal means deadly, exerting enough force to kill.

Just because you're turning your opponents into vegetables that will probably need to spend the rest of their lives eating through a straw doesn't equate "lethal."

Last I checked vegetables are still living things...:p

Video game characters do NOT have wives and children... If you're going to over personify a picture on a screen further than what it is supposed to represent you must spend an awful long time weeping for the hundreds of lost souls.

The thing is, I used ze Tranquizer, shot some a guy because I needed to incapacitate the entire group.

He died. Not sure how that happened.

Probably seriously allergic. Did you check his Medical Alert Bracelet?
