I can pretty much play whatever I want, my mom doesn't care (she might freak if I tried to play some "Adult" games, but as long as I am murdering everyone with extreme prejudice, she is fine. I try to keep it somewhat less gory when my dad around.

My parents do not care but I never buy that many bad games anyway, they know I can think for myself and I know what's real and what's fake so they trust me and I thank them for it. Condemned 2 is fine with them but porn, oh that's a big no-no.

My parents never restricted my gaming,
They knew I knew that video games arent to be taken seriously,

And I've always taken pride in my moral compas.

My mother thinks games are works of the devil, so its not as much 'violent games' as it is 'evil technology'. But she lets me do what I want with a *tsk tsk* so its all good.

When I was younger, my parents pretty much let us play whatever we wanted but

1) It couldn't be overly gory. This was decided by whether or not the game made my brother sleep walk or give him nightmares. My brother only ever sleep walks when things deeply disturbed him (scary movie, gory game, me putting a spider on his bed the night before...)

and 2) There couldn't be any F-bombs. (we got around this one by wearing headphones or no sound at all).

At age three or four, my father would let me play Mortal Kombat games and pretty much any other violent console game at the time (Hell, we even watched those Faces of Death movies at like age six). My mom didn't mind either.
My father would just tell me and my brothers that it's okay to play the games and would teach us right from wrong (which I'm guessing most kids now are missing); we all came out fine. Sure we all have a very dark sense of humor but there's nothing wrong with that.

If I had a child, I would not let him play these very bloody/gory games at such a young age as I did.

They limit the time I play and it's kind of annoying. I say kind of because I know I would play too much without the limits, but whatever. Also, I'm 17 so I can get any game I want. They just question it a little when I start killing people.

I find it funny when they do that. My mom did that when I played Fallout 3. Before I would save, I would go on a killing spree in a town. My mom just stood there with a "WTF?" face. I just shrugged.

The same thing happened with UFC: Undisputed: I was playing regularly as I do, but I then knocked the guy down and started repeatedly punching him in the face until the referee stopped the match. She had the same expression and looked at me as if I were crazy.

When I was younger, my parents disapproved of more violent games, but they let up after I hit around 13, although they still refused to buy me games with an 18 Rating.

Still, they never really monitored what I played, they just let me be, generally.

They don't care what I play. But then again, I'm 18.
I think they generally frown upon videogames for the waste of time they really are.

I'm 17. My parents raised me well so they don't have to check what I'm playing. Every now and then they look at my screen and say how nice today's graphics are. Remember, when minors kill somebody and *experts* say that it's a game's fault: that's not true. It's the kid's fault. He did the deed. He needs to know what he's doing. I've been playing since I was 5,6 years old and I watched my dad play Tomb Raider and Resident Evil on the Playstation. I never had the urge to kill anyone.

I'd say they don't care, but it was my dad who told me you could shoot hookers to get your monet back in GTA, so they're pretty awesome

My dad was too cynical to care about my gaming and my mom didn't care as long as I wasn't doing drugs or something.

My mom hates Halo and other violent video games. Dad doesn't give two shits what I play, as long as I get my school work done.
Confused how halo is violent, bar the finale of number 3..

OT: They don't give a rats ass, they only ever done shiz after a Trevor McDonald special and they sold my GTA Double pack....such a shame i had finished it =P
I don't get how Halo is violent either, but I've found from past experience that trying to get my mother to change her view is like trying to stop the sun from rising.
