Why has this thread changed from "Will you watch the Superbowl?" to "Can you please spew sarcasm and bile at football?"

Green Day Hackers? Pinturg Stealers? No idea who these kids are.

Anyway, I don't watch sport- ever. I'm too busy playing X3: Terran Conflict, or Eve, or anything else, really.

This mixed with a little bit of actively not wanting to watch it. I will however, be watching Glee afterwards and I don't care who makes fun of me.

So those of you living outside the United States I have a question. Are any of you planning on watching the Super Bowl? Do you care at all? For those not aware the two teams this year are the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

All opinions are welcome just please keep them polite. Sports fans inside the states are encouraged to keep everyone who is not in the know properly informed.

EDIT: I changed the title. Happy now?

For those too lazy to google

Not really, it's not as if it's the world cup or something... it's like asking an American whether he'll be watching the six nations.
I would watch it if it played on basic cable but as it stands the only way I can get games is if my clubs coach records them.

I am Australian, and "watched" it if turning the TV on and sitting at my computer which faces away from the TV counts. Occasionally I glanced at it, and on a couple of occasions I got up to get a closer look at a replay of something. Way too much nothing in grid iron for my liking though.

I don't really care for sports in general, and I must admit that I haven't ever watched a single game of American football.

But I know that the Super Bowl has gotten somewhat of a cult following here in Denmark (as well as other European countries I'm sure) over the past few years, partly due to the fact that you have to stay up all night to watch it.

I remember a lot of my high school friends showing up in school looking like crap because they hadn't slept at all. I think staying up with your friends and yelling at the TV screen was the main attraction though, I don't think any of them really cared about the game.

Why would ANYBODY watch the super bowl without the commercials? To watch some douchebags play handegg?
why do people watch soccer? to see dives, crying and 3 shots a game? i prefer a sport that takes athletic talent opposed to dramatic talent.
Cause soccer is far more strategically demanding, requires more technique and finesse, and the goals actually feel amazing when your team is scoring because they don't happen that much, which is a good thing.

The reason American's try to make out soccer to be boring is because they are not the best at it, the U.S. tends to enjoy the sports they rock in a lot more, which is why they had to invite a few, also, a country that calls an annual sporting event in which only two countries bother taking part at the "World Series" doesn't get to talk trash about foreign sports by default.

PS: Soccer is by far the most popular sport in the world, literally everybody realized it's the best sport except you guys.
I should first point out that I'm not american, so that whole part of your argument is wrong. Also, as someone who has played both sports i can tell you the football is much more technically demanding than soccer. And of course it's the most popular sport, that's because 90% of the world is poor as dirt, but anyone can kick around a sack. That doesn't make it a better sport, just available to more people.

We only really hear about it over in the UK during the Super bowl and never play it, 99% of us dont know the rules either or whats going on!

my take on sports in general that includes american football is as follows:
If you, friends or family do not do it but you still have something to do with it... you're doing something wrong!

(doing it includes managment and such)

so naturally I don't get why anyone is watching any sport as it's one of the most boring activities I can think of...

Eh, a few of the guys in my class who's interested in sports watched it last night and i guess the sports bars are showing it. Me and the majority of the people in Sweden either don't care or don't know about it.

I couldn't even tell you where the teams come from tbh.

Live in Norway. Sports that call themselves football that is actually handegg are not shown on TV. And not a single f**k is given.

Did watch it, despite the fact that my KC Chiefs did their usual choke and lost in the first week of the playoffs (at home, no less) and I had no real stake in the result. Congrats to the Green Bay Packers, see there's life beyond Favre and his sexting antics. I'm Aussie, btw.
