With Australia day coming up this weekend I am interested in how my fellow Aussies will be spending the day. I will be spending the day with some good mates playing beer pong and listening to the triple j hottest 100. Anyone else going to be spending the day in a similar fashion? Perhaps you have your own tradition?

Not sure how many other Aussies are on this forum but it would be fun to know how other people celebrate our national holiday so feel free to post about it.

You mean Invasion day? Yeah, I probably won't be doing anything special. Most places celebrate their independence while we're here celebrating colonialism. Makes you proud to be Australian.

Nothing too exciting besides getting a tattoo. Not a tattoo for Australia day I might add.

I have never really been one to celebrate it.

Shoot a few blackfellas and steal their land because I'm a traditionalist. In the afternoon I might destroy their culture by stealing their kids and leaving them with some priests to rape them.

or

Sit at home with a bottle of bourbon to keep me company because getting shit squared to go back to uni after 15+ years away from education means I can't afford to do anything else... unless the nephews are having a barbie, in which case I might go have beers and a barbie with them.

I'll just be treating it like a normal weekend. All the celebrations are filled with bogans, and it always ends with people beating up immigrants and yelling "fuck off, we're full".

Australia day celebrations are a big reason why I'm not proud of my country.

I'll be turning 20, being an Aussie born on Australia Day. I'll also be home, most likely playing games, because I'm not one for celebrating Australia Day, and I'm also not one for celebrating my own birthday.

Happy (Soon to come) Birthday bro.

Unfortunately I'm just like you. I'm going to have a different-ish family dinner and I will be in my place watching anime and playing games.

With a cider next to me... well it is a special day.

Oh yeah... I've been hearing recently that Australia Day is coming up... I don't imagine I'll be doing anything special though.

To be honest I don't even remember what date it is..? What day is today even?

Welcome to the club Vault. Not much to do in Perth. :p
I'll be doing the same thing...

I recommend the Rekorderlig brand cider. Sure it may be 7.50 for one bottle but it is worth it!
Strawberry and Lime is my favorite...

No problem mate, as I just said Rekorderlig... it's a nice brand but pretty expensive.
