Was working on my senior thesis last semester, ended at my wits end and turns to cigs in lieu of another smokable substance that may or may not be against Escapist TOS to say.
smoking did provide a very temporary nicotine high that was very very nice when I needed it.
But it's really a poor drug. that feeling doesn't last and then your chain smoking a whole pack just to get it back.
suffice to say, I've since quit it was remarkably easy.

Saying false equivalence doesn't make it a false equivalence. You have to explain why it is a false equivalence.Daystar Clarion said:False equivalence.MorphingDragon said:That's a very strange way to phrase it.Daystar Clarion said:Inb4 it relieves stress.

What do you enjoy about it? The smell? The smoke going into your lungs? That feeling of suffocation that makes you lightheaded?Tallim said:I will go with the time honoured answer that non-smokers refuse to accept: I enjoy it.
My apologies if my allergies, family history of asthma, and sensitive lungs cause you to classify me as "some lame anti-tobacco fag". I don't mean to insult or patronize you when I cough because you've lit up a cigarette, it's simply the reaction my body has.ShipofFools said:-You won't turn into some lame anti-tobacco fag that coughs loudly whenever a person is enjoying a good smoke! I do actually like the smell of tobacco and the smoke going into the lungs thing. In fact I did quit for years and I really really missed that the most. Nothing quite replaces that feeling. Every now and then I will still have a smoke because I still enjoy it.TehCookie said:What do you enjoy about it? The smell? The smoke going into your lungs? Well I was talking about the insulting patronizing cough, so obviously my comment was not aimed at you or people with similar problems.shrekfan246 said:My apologies if my allergies, family history of asthma, and sensitive lungs cause you to classify me as "some lame anti-tobacco fag". OT: As you'd probably be able to gather, I'm not a smoker. My respiratory tract is pretty messed up as it is, I don't need to willfully damage it further.
Nothing against people who do smoke, though, so long as they don't act all smug over the people who don't like it.
Yeah, I get that.ShipofFools said:The thing is, when you are already standing outside because it has been banned indoors, and somebody comes up to you coughing or crying or whatever, then yeah, I get mean. Who wouldn't, you know?
