There's a couple in my wargaming club. Everybody there uses the word "gay" for things that are lame, unfair, unbalanced, lucky, cheesy and many more. Doesn't bother them, they use it in that context as well.

There are serious problems with this. Studies have shown that gay men earn less than their heterosexual counter parts in large sectors of the job market, and lesbian women earn more than their heterosexual counterparts. -snip- I'm not sure if this also applies to Canada, ...
I'm really only speaking about my area, I obviously cannot speak about anything else.. Understand i tried to find the report i got this from (it actually exists) but i only have it in print. I though i mentioned that. I wouldn't have claimed this unless i had facts to back it, I'm sorry i couldn't actually link those facts. Where i am this is (according to statistical researchers) true.

Gay men usually do have more disposable income, due to being less likely to have dependents, but so are lesbian women.
I really don't want to fall into a 'lol' stance on this, but do you actually know any lesbians? If you just look at the product and services and clubs available in my city it is blatantly obvious who is spending money and who doesn't have any. i should also mention I am a gay women living in a large city and know a huge number of gays (women and men) and i can tell you, (WHERE I AM) this is absolutely true.

It would only make you look dismissive of other opinions if you did, so it's probably a good thing to resist that temptation.

Yes, I know several lesbians. And they earn and spend plenty of money, just not on clubs. Many of them simply don't have an interest in clubbing. And a lot of the gay men aren't rolling in dough, they simply prioritize their expenses differently.

Again, i really am speaking from my experiences in my city. No one is saying that this is the case everywhere, or that all lesbians or gays do anything. I think we're veering really far from the point. I was speaking specifically about if this particular guy walked into a gay bar on pride day, he would meet the kind of gay men who are not the kind he is looking to be friends with and gave (my humble theory) as to why catty gay men might be catty based on my experiences with said men. I even gave him a viable example of how to meet friendly gay men outside of that environment. No one is trying to suggest that catty gay men are the only ones that exist.

That's all, I'm really not trying to get into an argument. I'm sorry if I was not clear enough about my motives or eloquent enough with my choice of words and you have as such misunderstood me. There is a serious joke about gay men running industry in my city and as all stereotypes, it is based partly in fact (and run with by idiots). It is a big enough deal that it factors into municipal political runs and is mentioned by all candidates for mayor.

I recognize you from the forums and i generally agree with you on most points and find your posts to be intelligent and well thought out. I hope we are both coming from a 'debate' standpoint here and not an 'argument' one. I also consider myself to be an intelligent and friendly person and as such I would rather we just stop discussing this. I feel It's getting more heated than i ever intended (I could be wrong about that) and i was really only ever giving my opinion based on my personal experiences combined with some research i had read.
