vast majority of PC games use the mouse and keyboard, ESPECIALLY for fps. There are exceptions, the M&KB is your best bet.

Mouse and Keyboard - Unless you want to use a controller, in which case just Google it.

Welcome to the Escapist!

As stated above, the keyboard and mouse are your friends. Learn the hotkeys, and you will soon be a very fast gamer.

I do a lot of pc gaming. Now I've become a bit of a mouse pedant. I need a heavy mouse with a good scroll wheel and left, right and middle buttons, or I get very, very frustrated. But if you start with a tiny notebook mouse and get used to it, there's no need to get anything bigger or more expensive.

That's the joy of pc gaming, really. If you have what it takes to get on the Escapist, you probably have what it takes to play a lot of very, very worthwhile pc games.

mouse and keyboard. it's worth it to get use to them
if you're absolutely bent on using a controller though, you can use a wired xbox 360 controller and i believe there's some sort of console command that binds everything for you

well i use a mouse and a keyboard and it would be pretty silly for games not to since that's what the majority have

Everyone uses Mouse and Keyboard, and so do I.

Although for Driving games I cannot stand using anything besides my 360 gamepad.

GREAT game! and trust me, you may be tempted to use the xbox controlled but the mouse and key board is way easier

The keyboard...
Don't forget the mouse. Seriously though, a keyboard a mouse system is one of the things PC gaming has over console gaming since you can customize it anyway you want. You adapt to console games, pc games adapt to you (the controls at least).

Back when PS2 came out I bought Unreal Tournament and had a blast. I couldn't believe a keyboard/mouse would be any more precise than I was with my d-pad. I even beat a friend [PC UT player] while he used a mouse and keyboard [I was on controller].

However I did switch over and after getting used to it I really couldn't go back. It's a little bit elitist, but I get really picky when games try to institute crap like 'Mouse Smoothing' or 'Reduce Mouse Lag'.

If you really and i do stress really want to use a conrtoller, you can just use a 360 controller. It has a USB connector (the wired ones) that can plug in to your PC. It works with any steam games that say they are compatible. Most of the games are.

Note: many PC gamers, including myself, will gladly let you know that you will be at an aiming disadvantage with a controller. Console games include autoaim, and pc games do not. You get way more precision with a mouse, but that's just my recommendation. If you're into platformers, I'd recommend picking up a controller anyway.

When he ▲ says "PS/2" he means the connection on your computer not the game console, just to clarify
