A rant on PC fanboyism

My only problem with "SOME" PC gamers, is that they believe that my Console is not deserving of certain titles, I.E I had a friend once say that Dragon Age: Origins should never have been released for the consoles, he said that I as a Console gamer could never appreciate a game that was so focused on content and story, and what not.

However in the end I bought DA:O for my 360, named it one of my favorite game of all time (and I played the supposedly weaker version of the games, what with it being on the console and all), and now there is more hate coming about Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim and the fact Bethesda are doing to make it run well on consoles.

I believe unless a game has been declared as an exclusive to a platform, I.E. Gears of War, Halo, MGS4, Heavy Rain, Company of Heroes, we all deserve the right, no matter Console or PC gamer, to play a quality title.

We all also have a right to quality cheese, unless you're lactose intolerant, then you have a right to sandwiches.

You know Half Life for PS2 supported keyboard and mouse via usb, consoles should have taken that hint so you guys can play RTS games and stuff. Then I'd probably buy the cheapest console.

Well, Nintendo didn't quite leave that realm. You mention cheapest console, and that would be the Wii, thought it is not major gaming friendly, that is why I have both a Wii and a 360.

But what I was getting at is that the Wii comparing to the 360 and PS3(that really aren't delving in the realm), has internet capabilities, much better compared to the net surfing of the PSP I won in a poker tournament a few years back.

To continue, when I downloaded the free internet application that the Wii has, it notified me that I could plug in a USB keyboard to use for typing on the net, though it didn't say mouse, so they expect people to use the pointing of the Wiimote to replace a mouse.

Now if Nintendo were smart, they would improve upon the PC accessory interfacing with the WiiU. The problem is that Nintendo is the crazy wild horse in the console race. There are things it does nicely that the other consoles don't even look at, and the there are things like the internal hard drive which Nintendo doesn't understand needs to be a part of gaming consoles these days. The reason they don't is because it would make there consoles more expensive, but what they don't realize is that fans of Nintendo wouldn't care, because it would make their console functional as the competition. For a society that is such high into technology and functionality, the Japanese are really acting strange with how Nintendo is evolving and being run. They advance insanely far, 3D without glasses and such, but in other areas they are years in the past.

The Xbox 360 have 512mb ram shared between CPU and GPU. The PS3 256mb dedicated to CPU and another 256mb dedicated to GPU. My PC is getting old and is by no means a high end machine but still it have 4 GB ram.
This result is the same of all the hardware, consoles are getting old and their hardware is outdated.

I'll probably buy ES V on Xbox360 and then on PC for one reason only, it will take a while for the mods to come out. I'll enjoy the original game irregardless of what format I play it on, then expand the experience using my PC.

Only spoiled entitled little brats hold the idea that graphics make the game. I'm currently playing Terraria and Frozen Synapse, probably two of the most graphically inferior games to be released in a long while, but quite possibly two of the best games I've played in a long while too.
Bethesda can do what they want to ES V, as long as it has a stick man and a story I'm good

Well it depends, fanboyism in itself is not inherently negative, though you seem to be using "Fanboy" as a pejorative.

Fanboyism-the-pejorative is way more than saying "A is better than B"

It is exaggerating, misleading and lying about how "A is better than B" and ignoring or contriving away every incidence where "B is better than A"

Like the Nintendo fanboys desperately trying to argue that Wii-U doesn't need real analogue sticks to be a true hardcore gaming platform. There is now way nub-sliders are better than true analogue sticks, especially in a time when even portable handheld devices are embracing analogue sticks.

It is a fact that PC is better than consoles.

However it is fanboyism to say that makes it better for everyone as a lot of people are just too casual to appreciate it or master it.

I find it interesting that Nintendo fanboys rant about 360 gamers much the same as 360-fanboys rant about PC gamers. And the teasing-belittlement similarly goes the other way.

This made me stumble.

I'm a hybrid of a PC-Console gamer. I always play stuff like Fallout and Elder Scrolls on my PC, because I like being able to mod it and stuff like that, but I play multiplayer on my Xbox 360 because my friends have 'em.
I actually prefer the console way of gaming, with a controller, and as such, am extremely happy that Fallout 3 and NV allow a 360 gamepad. Mouse and keyboard works fine for RTS games, but I wouldn't be playing Fallout on PC without that gamepad choice.
I also hate that my PC (well, laptop), being low end, has forced me to start to build a better PC (desktop) to keep up with the gaming world, one thing I value consoles for.
