The ending sucked as well!
Amen brotha! What a lame end boss fight. Shoot the white orbs! How creative. And the singular attack is his repertoire when you are stuck in the force field pens- that is pure laziness.

Your personal lack of skill does not make a game bad, it just means you don't know how to play it correctly.
Your girlfriend said the same thing.

As I said before, you went into this game with no idea of what to expect and hardly any skill with FPS games.
No sense of humor.

Run and Gun? Were you playing with God mode on, because even on normal I died after every third hit.

Run through the campaign on casual once or twice, then try it on the next highest difficulty, then the next highest.
I agree with this. Resistance 2 is pretty easy when you learn how to handle it. Either you hang back and snipe, or you go at it like a bloody lunatic, massacre everything then dive for cover to heal whilst the Chimera regroup. The latter tactic won't work so well on Hard / Superhuman difficulty, but Casual / Normal it will.

I actually quite like Resistance 2. The whole thing about dying too quickly. I disagree. To me it isn't annoying, I just feel like doing better. Further more I don't do ducking cover. I actually only crouch with something that I a judge to be big enough (as in already quite high if I'm standing). However the annoying explody machine things are a concern. They do get annoying. Finally the multiplayer is pretty good and I don't hear many annoying bastards on mikes. But thats just my two cents. It is enjoyable, but not that extraordinary. But to me, neither was Halo or Gears of War. All these gruff shooters are just... samey and fun.

Don't lower yourself to that kind of talk, you'd most assuredly get banned or at least probated.

Personally, I thought the rant was well-written, for a rant. However, listing what makes one less of a forum troll/loser/etc. (a girlfriend, job, age above 9) is likely to only strengthen the sentiment that the writer is desperate to appear respectable, and ironically (depending on whether or not you saw it coming) makes the writer appear less respectable, and causes the readers to not want to read the rest of what has been written.

And as far as the people/miscreants chewing out General_Rouge for posting an opinion are concerned, realize that in doing so you are also posting an opinion. Forums actually exist for those. So while I won't say you shouldn't have posted your opinion on opinions (which I'm ironically posting an opinion on), I will say that it is my opinion that the opinions of those against General_Rougue's posting of an opinion are fucking retarded.

add killzone 2 to that list.

what ever happened to the brilliant legacy of game design? has it really been thwarted to make way for hype powered console shooters that seemingly only exist to rob potential buyers their wallets?

enough of the shitty combat infested games that end up repetitive both visually and in gameplay. enough with bullshit hype that only serves to giddy up the public, who in turn take everything said for truth. gaming needs a revolution, and it needs one soon.

Critics are paid for ratings. Their enjoyment of games is no longer relevant to their jobs. Just how well they can fake enjoying games.

Anyways, Yahtzee won't reply. He's too far stuck up in own ass.

Eipok:
Lack of skill shouldn't make a game obscenely unenjoyable either.

The other two:
Heh.

Well im going to guess by what you have said that your not a gamer, and if you are your, a casual one, so to get my /b/ side out of me let me say GTFO!!!!!.....

Now that thats over, I know that is may be hard getting a game when your not really a gamer because... well you have to go by other peoples opinions, assuming you don't know anything about the game in question. I played R2 and it sucked, but I didn't buy it because the day I spend money on anything by sony is the day I eat my own cornea :p
All in all try out demos before buying, or better yet, rent

As for Yahtzee, not a chance in hell

Note taken, but also realize that "That's what your girlfriend said" is a lame comeback that my friends and I use in total jest. It's right up there with "That's what she said!"

There are other jokes to make besides fucking another persons mother and/or girlfriend. The Escapist holds it's users to a higher standard. While nobody is fully immune to the "that's what she said" joke, leave other people's relatives out of it.

I can't help feeling that most of the gaming community doesn't use "that's what your girlfriend said" as a retort. Though I might start.

Pffft, "that's what she said" is a perfect substitute for "that's what your girlfriend said". Just switch out "girlfriend" with "she" and you're a free man!

True, but if I were to be placed in a scenario in which I had a girlfriend who wasn't present and was playing games with some other guys who didn't have girlfriends, I think the girlfriend bit would add a fair bit of sulfur to the burns distributed.

I'm sorry, but maybe there's something wrong with me because I don't find pointlessly butchering a game without bringing up a single solid point funny. You ranted on about this game, but never brought up a single point to justify anything you said. You just demonstrated that you went into the game blindly and expected it to be everything that it was never supposed to be.

Well if you want to pay me, I'll be more than happy to start doing fair and balanced reviews. That reminds me... I really need to get back to work.
