Wow...

Can you link the guy who got arrested?

Overall i think this is one of the blanket laws they create and don't enforce most of the time unless they want to shut someone down they don't like.

This is the first i heard about this and there must be loopholes.

I mean, this is the country where you can see TnA at 5:00pm and the word Fuck as early as 4:00pm.

I don't know that much about Canadian Law system, but Don't you guys have a Constitution like the United States that prohibits this stupid shit? I'm sorry If I'm being offensive. This law is pretty outrageous.

Many, MANY laws here in Canada are outrageous, but there are laws EVERYWHERE that are just as outrageous.
For example, in England. If you startle the queen in ANY way, like coming around a corner too fast, you can be subject to a $14000 fine and imprisonment...
Besides, the case was in Quebec so who cares...

Uh I don't think this law is being very enforced. If at all.

Go to any book store, and it's the same as everywhere else. "Crime comics", and everything.

But, yeah, as a Canadian and one who actually bothered to educate himself a little bit about the law in highschool and otherwise, I must say that some laws are really fucking stupid.

Especially in regards to "obscene material".

As a big proponent of unlimited or nigh-unlimited free speech, it kinda pisses me off slightly.

She is indeed, yet it is still an enforceable law...

I still don't really see how this affects anyone, unless you ARE a zombie...

The guy that was arrested can do his stuff behind theaters closed doors. He doesn't need to do it on the public streets.

Its just one of those laws that noone cares about.

Side note: why can't these idiots put up these laws in a less repetitive and less annoying language. I pity those that have to read these laws for a living.

Man, I've just been downright depressed all day.

Reading through laws of countries does not help the "Everyone sucks but me and I can't help 'em" mind set I have going on.
