I am sorry but I seriously doubt you can say that. I'd rather have Gladion be honest about his opinion than people like you saying that you care. Because you don't. You aren't crying and in 3 days you'll forget who died. Everyone dies.

I didn't know her, but I saw the first thread, and though I was not able to post there, I had wanted to.

Sad to here he pass, more so since we were told she would be fine.

Is it really that easy to miss stuff like that, wouldn't serious damage be evident?

Fuck, she was the only friend i had added on here! :( Check my profile! Condolences to her family and non-internet friends, hopefully she can catch up with some of those friends she regretted not seeing again now :)

I'll admit that I don't have very strong feelings.

However

That doesn't mean that someone's, anyone's life should be treated in that manner.

However now I am curious to how you respond when people die, say, in a war. Just because there's more of them doesn't make their deaths any less significant

Rest in peace, Kortney. It's a shame I didn't get more opportunities to talk to you. Much love <3

Then she has gone before us to the party, and, by rights of going first, must save us a drink. I will not mourn, for they are in the best place to revel. We too shall find our place at the greatest shindig, but we are yet running late, and will not make it yet.

People die EVERY SINGLE DAY. You don't give a shit. The reason you care is because you were taught that you had to care because it was "correct."

It's normal to be able to feel empathy for other humans. I don't think it's a question about right or wrong. While I didn't know this person and can't really say that I care. I still feel that it's a little sad, because it was another Escapist.

Grow up you silly little child.

On topic: I believe we had but a few passing comments about feminism once. I figured she was a nice girl, interesting and, gasp, open minded in an argument (go and re-read th ethread, it's there somewhere, and check for yourselves).

It just sucks.

Here's the part where it would be convenient to talk about prayer of some kind if I were to be religious, but since I'm not I can only extend my best wishes to her family and friends both IRL and in the Escapist and hope that people find it to be just well enough.

I didn't know her, but seeing as the OT managed to bring a tear out (though i'll never admit it), i felt like i should offer my condolences.

I have no idea where she is now, or if there even is a place after this one.

But thread goes to show you that even though bad things happen to good people, you still have good people who care about what happened.

"I knew her not, but alas, something irreplaceable has left this world. We shall mourn." -Me

Just read through a handful of her posts out of respect.
The community is less with her gone.
RIP Kortney, you will be missed.

Her name and avatar seem familiar, thought I'm on here enough that I encounter many people and it is hard to remember everybody entirely, so I really didn't know her all that well.

Her last post gets to me the most, it is so sad.

My condolences.

It's not because you're an unempathic sociopath, we all have to be.

I feel bad for her family and close friends. A well-mannered person like her will be sorely missed on the forum.

I didn't really know her well, but I feel bad about it all the same.

May she rest in peace.

Edit: And the trolls who try to earn tough guy cred by acting like they don't care about death swarm in. How pathetic.

Edit 2: This is why I hate driving.

My condolences to her family and friends.

Also, arguing about the effect of a death of a person? Disgusting. Escapist hit a new low with this thread and I hope those who are disrespectful get permanently banned.

EDIT: Though some of the posts in this thread do redeem it. I can see she meant a lot to some people here.

I may have never heard of her before, but may she be remembered by her family and friends.

I stepped up to a single gravestone.
It was different from all the other breeds,
Its name was carved in a way that was beautiful, yet it was alone.
The stone was covered in moss and weeds,
"What did I find so interesting about this one?"
"Why did I look upon a stone that carried a name that I never known?"
They where already dead, I couldn't meet them personally, at least not under this sun!
Because, would you want to die, knowing your good deeds alone?
Would you want to vanish, with everyone forgetting all the good, not even remembering the bad?
From that day forward I brought flowers, not caring if I didn't know their past deeds.
From that day forward, everyone said I looked stupid and mad.
I didn't care, I was sowing that persons seeds.
I don't care if I die with or without my charities known.
I have gained a friend, without whom I would be alone.

I hope you like the poem. Sorry if it isn't as good as you would like it to be.

I used to not care about random people because it didn't fall within my little sphere of a world and had your views, but here's the thing: This life, this single little dot out of billions of people, was still a person. She had dreams and hopes and ideas, and they will all never come true because of a tragic circumstance, a quirk of fate. If you were to die tomorrow, would you not want people to stop and reflect on your life and thoughts, or would you rather they go on with their lives as if nothing had ever happened? I'm not saying I need we need stop and think about everyone who dies, but it would still be nice to stop and take a few minutes to honor a person's life.

OT: Alas, I knew her not, but she will be missed as part of this community. I took a few minutes out of my life and played a song in memory of her today.

"Life, Hopes, Dreams... All are important, and when a person dies, it is one less spark in the world"

EDIT: This song is fitting. I've heard it many times, but today is the first time I've legitimately teared up while listening to it.
