Can't really recall. If I had to guess it was probably a thread here on the Escapist.
I like the show and the funny images it creates, doesn't really go much farther than that. I never visit any of the Chan sites where this supposedly became popular.
I certainly won't be buying any pony-related toys anytime soon. >_>
I think the farthest I may go is a possible avatar change here on the Escapist and/or a new pony spray in TF2. Although I seem to have an unhealthy obsession with Applejack for reasons I can't explain. :l

I had noticed MLP avatars popping up, but thought nothing of it. When I saw that TimeLord had changed his avatar, I figured it must be good to convince the resident Doctor Who nut to have something non-Doctor Who related as his avatar. So I went and watched the first episode, and loved it.

Ehh, I first heard about it on 4chan's /co/ board. Decided to check it out to see what the fuss was all about, found all the episodes on Youtube.
How deep into the fandom do you get?
I don't go deep. I don't even enter the goddamn pool. /co/ may be relatively civilised, but it's still The Internet. I just watch the episodes, and maybe join the thread that appears when a new episode is being streamed

Hmm, around late January early Febuary I saw a pony thread on 4chan's /co/ board (Oh please, 4chan is not a bad place, that's just /b/) and was like 'Oh, what's this!'
Now I enjoy good animation, so at first when I saw the thread I didn't really care, but the days after that I saw a sudden increase in pony threads, mind you this was near the very start of 'bronydom' and there was little pony related material elsewhere on the internet, so I decided to give it a shot since I get easily convinced :3.
-How deep into the fandom do you get?
Ohhh let's just say that
* In Chrome my 4 most visted sites are ; Escapist, Equestria Daily, Ponychan, and Youtube.
* I have a 236MB Pony Pictures File.
* I have a 134MB Pony Music File (Containing the latest Eurobeat Brony's and Pony Dubstep)
* I play at least 1 Pony Music song every day on Audiosurf and Beat Hazard :-D
* My Desktop and Chrome themes are Pony related
* I wake up every Saturday (New Zealand) excited as s*** for the next pony episode to get uploaded on youtube .
* I have at least 2 pony tabs open up in chrome at any given time, occasionally browsed.

I enjoy ponies and everything they represent, they're charming, the show is clever, the animation is superb (possibly the best flash animation I've ever seen!), and every single character is likeable, even if I hated them at first (eg. Spike and Rarity).
However, being a Straight 15 year old Male...
There are certain constraints that I have put up for myself.
These include not fully showing my Bronyhood (Even if I really, really want to).
This is the reason that so far I have no set up a Pony Avatar nor have I told anyone at my school about it. I've thrown in references such as '20% Cooler' and 'Oatmeal, are you Crazy?' but to no avail, I can confirm that none of my friends are bronies. It's even worse considering I am from New Zealand, and the only way to know about the show from here is via The Escapist, 4chan, or some other minor site, they haven't really shown themselves in places such as reddit or facebook that much..
And that was assuming my friends ever use the internet for anything other than Facebook. Telling my friends would only garner a negative response, and portray me as a hipster or a 'weirdo' or something. Unless it gets more popular and possibly comes to New Zealand, I'll keep it covert for now :3.
So apart from showing it in public, I consider my pony fandom above average.
