"It's Captain," Nathanius jokingly corrects Marco, "and it's this way." He leads them to the elevators and nods to the bellman, "Back up this time." The lift takes the men to the landing platforms and Nathanius leads them to platform 17.
"Here she is boys," he gestures at the Rapier.
The Derigible is composed of to large steam filled blimp shaped bladders with gleaming silver catwalks between the two blimps, the catwalks meet at the front and back, to form a flattened figure eight pattern. There are also three laddered struts over each bladder to reach the top in case repairs are needed, as well as to just enjoy the view of the sky when luxury is all that is required. Nestled at the very center of the ship is the furnace and coal, 'the heart of the ship' as Nathanius describes it. Just to the fore of the furnace, on a raised dais, the helm wheel sits high enough to see around the two bladders, there is a second helm, directly below the catwalks approximately the same distance down as the raised dais is up.
Suspended beneath the bladders is the main of this ship, a medium sized cargo area and quarters enough for 5 men with the captain's quarters located at the aft with large windows looking out behind the ship. Metal and rope ladders as well as large cargo nets connect the lower section to the upper. The deck of the lower section is made of wood with an inflatable steam ballast under the main cargo decks to offset the weight of any cargo brought on, and the deck is very similar to that of a naval ship of ancient times, including armaments, one aft, and one fore clockwork repeater small cannon (larger than a rifle, but smaller than a true cannon), and two larger cannons on rails to be slid between the two sides of the ship, depending on which side an adversary may be on.
