I'd have to say that I get pretty nervous posting on here. I've seen people suspended for things that I would have said. So it leads to me taking the time to type up a comment and then pausing and thinking: "Is this going to get me suspended? Did I say something wrong here, but am not going to realize it until people start picking at it?" I see the escapist as a very "country club style thread site". You need to mind your manors, and not just spout random obscenities. The problem is that same thing that makes this seems like a nicer place, is the same thing that keeps me from posting.

Hello my fellow escapists, in an effort to preserve the structural integrity of one of my other threads, I have made this thread so those of you that seek to complain about the issues they have with the escapist forums can do so in a designated area.
Any complaints are welcome, but please stay civil and polite.
Please, no personal insults or attacks.
If you have an issue with another escapist, please remain civil.
Other than that, all issues are welcome.
But again, please stay civil.

My complaint: Excessive thread derailing grinds my gears, especially in threads in which the OP asked several times for the derailing to stop.
The designated area is the moderation team user group, located here: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Moderation-Team

Thanks.
Well that egg is on my face.

And to avoid low-content:
Ehm...
I really am quite happy with these forums, soooo complainy complainy complainy?
Errr.
Maybe this forum's tendency to repeat certain topics over and over and over again?
Although I am grateful that the sexism threads have ceased.
For now.

I think that the number one thing I find irritating on the Escapist forums is redundancy in thread topics.

Even more so is the topics that keep getting dredged up that everyone gets sick of them. They then post on the 90th thread on the subject to say "I'm sick of this." Don't you understand? Attention and posts are what threads live on. If you get sick of something, don't post on a thread about it because you're defeating your own desires.

I'm tired of seeing relationship threads outside the advice section.
Report them please, or if it's easier for you send me the links via PM. I'm trying to get that forum back to how it was, so any help would be appreciated. :)
Please do not direct people to send you concerns about moderation - you are not a moderator on this site.

Questionable posts should either be reported in the established means, by clicking the report button, or directed to people that have been designated to handle these affairs, namely myself or other members of the Escapist moderation team.

We welcome users to post in the mod team user group, which is located here: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/chat/Moderation-Team

Or to PM any of the moderators listed in the Code of Conduct, which you can view here: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/codeofconduct

While we do appreciate your enthusiasm for the site, it will cause more harm than good to confuse people about what the proper channels are for addressing these kinds of concerns.

Sincerely,
- Your Friendly Neighborhood Community Manager
