yea, i feel sorry for them. the news reported she was doing better the day before she died though, im guessing aneurysm or something similar...... its also sad that shes leaving behind two semi-teenagers.....
That seemed to me to be the hardest part of it, she got up laughing, then once she got the headache she was gone very quickly from what I heard. She was already brain dead and on life support when she was moved to New York, they just kept her on it and transferred her that way so the boys could say their goodbyes from what I understand.

I can't imagine how shocking this was for those boys either. At that age especially. Awesome answer Kalezian.

That's it! Thank you! Man, I couldn't remember where else I saw him besides Batman and Fallout 3.

But yeah. Man, this sucks. I heard the news a while ago, but I didn't know who she was married to. Damn. My sympathies go out to Liam.

Sorry about your Mother. I hope she is OK. I would have thought snow would be soft too, and wondered if there was like a rock covered by snow there or something.

That's a huge thought, I agree. Those boys just going into their teens is a real rough time to be going thru such a grief.

Although, on the other hand, she WAS a moron for not wearing a helmet, and taking a concussion lightly.

My sympathies to Liam and the family though.
Thats not very nice, she was on the nursery slope when she fell, I go skiing and I never wear a helping, its just a freak accident that she caused a hairline fracture in her temperal lobe, it could happen to you or I while tripping up in the street.

Problem is we would all take a concussions lightly, I had a door slammed in my face and I thought nothing of it, I suffered a concussion but luckily I stayed up for two days, alot of people do the same, hit to the head and dont think anything of it.... go to sleep, wake up with migraine lasting a week!.
You are exactly right, it seemed such a light accident, and she did get up laughing; then later developed the headache. You wouldn't think such a small fall would have caused such a devastating injury either. At the time, an ambulance was called; but I heard it was turned away by someone (not sure who) before the EMT's ever got a chance to look at her. They say in the case of a head injury the first two hours are critical in saving the patient. You are very lucky to have survived your concussion, since you didn't seek care either. <3
I was lucky with my head injury in that I was young and on a cocktail of drugs, MDMA shuts down all none vital bodyly functions to fix the brain whenever you take it, so my brain fixed itself while things like digesting and peeing and sweating shut itself down, all power in body goes too brain and respitory functions. Also Ketamine reboots the brain.

I seeked care two days later, and I was told this by surgeons.

My heartfelt regards to him and best wishes after this loss.
Your picture contains a completely acceptable amount of geekery and badassery.
That is all.

Sorry to hear about his loss. My father almost lost his life in a skiing accident - he was wearing a helmet, and while skiing down the mountain, he lost balance, fall down and hit his head. When he later looked at the helmet, it had a small (cough cough) crack on it.

Still, he had a massive headache after that...
His wife wasn't wearing a helmet. She was on the beginner slopes. She did get up laughing and talking just fine, then got a headache. Next thing you know she was on life support and brain dead. They had two young children, I think 12 and 13 years old. His wife played the part of the mother in the remake of "Parent Trap," I was a fan of hers as well.

That's why I feel sorry for them. I mean, if my father wasn't wearing a helmet either, my mom would be a widow.
Yeah, dude, that's pretty terrifying. Being half an orphan sucks, trust me.
Then again...

That's really scary!
Life in general is pretty scary.
You aren't kidding!

Bless your heart! I hope you never have any residual effects from an injury that bad; it is amazing what the doctors are capable of doing if you get the right ones!

NOW I know why the Canadian news stations had a shitload of coverage on her accident (besides it happening in Canada...)

I gotta admit, Qui-Gon Jinn was one of the few good actors in The Phantom Menace, and he did one EPIC Ra's al Ghul in Batman Begins.

Although, on the other hand, she WAS a moron for not wearing a helmet, and taking a concussion lightly.

I've never seen beginners wearing helmets on the ski slopes, you would think the only ones wearing the helmets would be in the extreme ski competitions. Have the laws of helmet wearing pervaded the beginners ski slope too?
And this, people, is the reason why I want to eject most of Earth's population into space. Anyone who deserves to live wears a helmet on ANY ski slope. Hell, I myself wear one every time I go to Castle Mountain Resort, even though I only go on the easy slopes that, apparently, are made of soft white fluff and not snow, if one listens to morons like the one I just quoted, and I SNOWBOARD.

Now, I'm no trying to sound like I don't care. I quite clearly stated that it's sad to hear, but the plain and simple truth is that anyone who DOESN'T WEAR A HELMET skiing, snowboarding, biking, or doing anything that has a high risk of bashing one's head in, especially if one then LAUGHS OFF a concussion, deserves to die.
Well, I'll wave at you from space! lol. Sorry, but I haven't been on a ski slope since I was 10, and helmets were unheard of on the slopes then. As I pointed out, I was ignorant to what the laws pertaining to helmets on the slopes was, and just assumed a beginners slope would not be a place where one would be required. Forgive my ignorance and I'll forgive your sending me into space.

I'm not deliberately trying to be offensive, (it's always a shame for the world to lose someone who apparently combines talented and nice) so please don't get all shirty with me for saying it:

But you have to admit there's a certain amount of irony given Liam Neeson's role in Fallout 3 and Love Actually.
I was going to say the same thing...At least she didn't die minutes after child birth, then it would have just been TOO ironic...

My deepest sympathies go out to the man, he's a good guy and didn't deserve that.

My deepest sympathies to Liam Neeson. Even though I never saw a movie with his wife in it, I hear she was a great actor.

Just wondering, but how old are you now? I don't think it is required by law to wear a helmet on ski slopes, but it is just common sense to wear one since even a Bunny Hill fall could cause death, as this has proved.
It's been proved now, and will probably become law now, just like it did for motorbikes, bycicles, etc. It's things like this that make people realize the need for helmets, that's for sure! I really didn't know, though; and do apologize for my ignorance on that.
