That seemed to me to be the hardest part of it, she got up laughing, then once she got the headache she was gone very quickly from what I heard. She was already brain dead and on life support when she was moved to New York, they just kept her on it and transferred her that way so the boys could say their goodbyes from what I understand.Kalezian said:yea, i feel sorry for them. the news reported she was doing better the day before she died though, im guessing aneurysm or something similar...... its also sad that shes leaving behind two semi-teenagers.....
That's it! Thank you! Man, I couldn't remember where else I saw him besides Batman and Fallout 3.Izakflashman said:oh gutted. he's pretty cool. saw him on "the kingdom of heaven" last night.

But yeah. Man, this sucks. I heard the news a while ago, but I didn't know who she was married to. Damn. My sympathies go out to Liam.

I was lucky with my head injury in that I was young and on a cocktail of drugs, MDMA shuts down all none vital bodyly functions to fix the brain whenever you take it, so my brain fixed itself while things like digesting and peeing and sweating shut itself down, all power in body goes too brain and respitory functions. Also Ketamine reboots the brain.mALX said:You are exactly right, it seemed such a light accident, and she did get up laughing; then later developed the headache. You wouldn't think such a small fall would have caused such a devastating injury either. At the time, an ambulance was called; but I heard it was turned away by someone (not sure who) before the EMT's ever got a chance to look at her. They say in the case of a head injury the first two hours are critical in saving the patient. You are very lucky to have survived your concussion, since you didn't seek care either. <3ColdStorage said:Thats not very nice, she was on the nursery slope when she fell, I go skiing and I never wear a helping, its just a freak accident that she caused a hairline fracture in her temperal lobe, it could happen to you or I while tripping up in the street.Pyromaniac1337 said:Although, on the other hand, she WAS a moron for not wearing a helmet, and taking a concussion lightly.

Problem is we would all take a concussions lightly, I had a door slammed in my face and I thought nothing of it, I suffered a concussion but luckily I stayed up for two days, alot of people do the same, hit to the head and dont think anything of it.... go to sleep, wake up with migraine lasting a week!.

Yeah, dude, that's pretty terrifying. Being half an orphan sucks, trust me.Abedeus said:mALX said:His wife wasn't wearing a helmet. She was on the beginner slopes. She did get up laughing and talking just fine, then got a headache. Next thing you know she was on life support and brain dead. They had two young children, I think 12 and 13 years old. His wife played the part of the mother in the remake of "Parent Trap," I was a fan of hers as well.Abedeus said:Sorry to hear about his loss. My father almost lost his life in a skiing accident - he was wearing a helmet, and while skiing down the mountain, he lost balance, fall down and hit his head. When he later looked at the helmet, it had a small (cough cough) crack on it.
Still, he had a massive headache after that...
That's why I feel sorry for them. I mean, if my father wasn't wearing a helmet either, my mom would be a widow.
Then again...Life in general is pretty scary.mALX said:That's really scary!Abedeus said:mALX said:His wife wasn't wearing a helmet. She was on the beginner slopes. I seeked care two days later, and I was told this by surgeons.
Well, I'll wave at you from space! lol. Sorry, but I haven't been on a ski slope since I was 10, and helmets were unheard of on the slopes then. As I pointed out, I was ignorant to what the laws pertaining to helmets on the slopes was, and just assumed a beginners slope would not be a place where one would be required. Forgive my ignorance and I'll forgive your sending me into space.Pyromaniac1337 said:And this, people, is the reason why I want to eject most of Earth's population into space. I gotta admit, Qui-Gon Jinn was one of the few good actors in The Phantom Menace, and he did one EPIC Ra's al Ghul in Batman Begins.

I've never seen beginners wearing helmets on the ski slopes, you would think the only ones wearing the helmets would be in the extreme ski competitions. Have the laws of helmet wearing pervaded the beginners ski slope too?
Now, I'm no trying to sound like I don't care. I quite clearly stated that it's sad to hear, but the plain and simple truth is that anyone who DOESN'T WEAR A HELMET skiing, snowboarding, biking, or doing anything that has a high risk of bashing one's head in, especially if one then LAUGHS OFF a concussion, deserves to die.
I was going to say the same thing...At least she didn't die minutes after child birth, then it would have just been TOO ironic...JemJar said:I'm not deliberately trying to be offensive, (it's always a shame for the world to lose someone who apparently combines talented and nice) so please don't get all shirty with me for saying it:
But you have to admit there's a certain amount of irony given Liam Neeson's role in Fallout 3 and Love Actually.
It's been proved now, and will probably become law now, just like it did for motorbikes, bycicles, etc. It's things like this that make people realize the need for helmets, that's for sure! I really didn't know, though; and do apologize for my ignorance on that.Pyromaniac1337 said:Just wondering, but how old are you now? I don't think it is required by law to wear a helmet on ski slopes, but it is just common sense to wear one since even a Bunny Hill fall could cause death, as this has proved.mALX said:Well, I'll wave at you from space! lol.
