A True Stress Relieving Game

Man, you guys are making me remembered old buried treasures I've forgotten about. The metal slug series is a prime example.

It kinda seems funny at first, but you have a point. Kinda hard to get mad at the cute little 3d sprites running like madmen with no legs.

Whenever I get annoyed or frustrated, I play Vice City. Relieves my stress and I get to destroy things. Either that or Killzone if I feel like I need a few stealth kills.... I'm not sadistic... I swear

I'd say I haven't experienced true stress relief in games since Soldier of Fortune. I could do just the subway level over and over armed with nothing but the Desert Eagle, popping off limbs and exploding heads. Nothing like kneecapping a guy and watching him drag himself away from his amputated leg leaving behind a trail of blood.

Tropico is one of my favorite games that fall in this category.

God game with excellent music and occasional funny moments.

The first Worms game was always good for stress relieving, especially if all four teams were human controlled. Also any GTA game. Co-op games are good from stress as well (sometimes...)
I think it's objectives that get me annoyed...

Super Mario Galaxy, it's not too hard (with a few exeptions), never gets boring and for some reason really makes me feel relaxed.

Also I can't believe NOBODY mentioned Crackdown.

The random button mashing in Soul Calibur and Dynasty Warriors is rather cathartic.

Devil May Cry for me, there's something oddly satisfying about keeping an enemy airborne for like 2 mins then slicing them in half.

Hogs of War(PS1), its fun, it's really funny(especially if you're a Rick Mayall fan, it's a bonus since i'm a fan) and the multiplayer is ace, there are various teams to pick, which are all of different nationalities Including English, Japanese, Russian, French, American and German.
All teams are customizable such as picking names for your pigs and team, chosing ranks such as medics, engineers, snipers, pyrotechnics and paratroopers.
Anyway, if there a game that releives stress for me, it's Hogs of War.
Its basically a funnier and better 3D version of worms, any body who disagrees with me can inject themselves with a poison that imitates a Brain Haemorrhage.

Hehe I love Hogs of War. Back in Middle school my friend would bring that over my house and we'd have mindless fun for hours.

Tetris, I love the music and it's meditative. Or RE3 or Nightmare Creatures when I wanna make something bleed. Badly.

Merceinaries 2 with cheats on, using moabs and nukes everywhere or just sitting there in a tank while everyone pummuls you hopelessly and you randomly pick them off or leveling entire bases with helicopter rockets. Ahhhh, i feel so much better.

I played Dead Space today for the first time and although some situations are definitely not relaxing, I have to say I enjoyed myself the whole time. Even dying never pissed me off.
