I was surprised at how relaxing the Tomb Raider: Underworld demo was.

I used to play a lot of the terribly flawed Driver 3, simply because I felt free to speed around these three big, culturally-varied, cities.

No annoying traffic-lights holding up my progress as are in GTA.

Counter Strike, I play just to have fun, dont care about my score. When I play this way, I usually have a 2.0 kdr anyways so thats always fun. When I actually sit down though to "play" I do terrible.
I know right? It's wierd. Not trying, you end up owning, but when you try to master that talent, you fall flat on your ass on a cooked grenade.
Same here! Just playing for something to do and its headshots everythime for me. Then the next moment i start playing shit as i start to try.
Unreal tourdement is a perfect game for stress reilef. So easy to get even and even dying is funny as your corpse explodes and goes flying across the map.

San Andreas with cheats:

Hydra cheat:

Y, Y, X, B, A, L trigger, L Trigger, Up, Down.

Don't kill me if that's wrong, it's been a while.

Ironically, GTA4 was quite relaxing for me, but that was almost entirely because I hated the storyline and avoided it wherever possible. This led to the recurring antagonist calling the cell phone periodically to try and give me the next plot hook, only to have his call stifled by the "don't answer" button as I continued on my quest to throw myself off motorcycles in increasingly ridiculous manners and places.

Also, I was going to also cite the Mega Man X collection (barring X6, which is only relaxing AFTER you have rescued all the special victims) but someone beat me to it. I played the hell out of X4 when it was new, so going back to it is always awesome.

Timesplitters 2 has always been one of my favorite stress relievers. Saints Row 2 is also pretty good at this.

Hahaha, Mirror's Edge is like an abusive boyfriend. It keeps slapping me in the face, but I keep coming back for more. I keep eating my controller out of frustration for not getting that three star rating by a second, or missing a ladder AGAIN having to restart the entire level eventhough I already pulled of some amazing maneuvors (I'm aware of the immense spelling mistakes in that word, I just really don't know what the correct spelling is)... But I love it. In fact, I'm going to go play some right now.

Mine is Painkiller. Nothing says stress relief like running through Purgatory/Hell killing anything that moves with satisfyingly gory weapons that rip the corpses to shreds.
Purgatory is in the middle of Heaven and Hell

Ohhhhh yeah, I've been so busy criticising others opinions I forgot to say one myself.

Either Motorstorm or Burnout Paradise. In both games you really get a sense of speed and it feels great and even if you crash (which you will, again and agin and again) the crashes are awesome (sometimes I play a game with my friends to see who can get the best crash).

Crackdown. Easily. Load that game up and blow some stuff up. Always relieves my stress really fast. It's not too hard to play, and it's challenging enough to not be a total snore-inducer.

At the moment, Saints Row 2.
It seems like a game full of stuff to do. The story almost seems to be an afterthought.
This is one of the only Next Gen games I've really enjoyed despite it being a total rip off off San Andreas.

Tetris, and Mafia. Not because I can shoot people in the second one, but because of the music, the lovely car-handling and enviroments. I usually just play freeride and just drive around peacefully. It feels so nice.

I usually don't find violent games relaxing. Except perhaps Lugaru, because of the orgasmic effects, you can really feel every bone breaking in the enemies bodies when you throw them around.

I used to play Super Mario as well to relax, the real one. But my gameboy got stolen.

After all these years if you get on some decent loud music, a few cans of your favourite tipple, a map full of sheep/bots, and a flak cannon / instagib rifle in your hands, and the stress just blasts away in small chunky blocks.

I would say Fiesta, the server choosing part is nice, great graphics and music. But if you're blind somehow managed to read this thread, and not deaf, then you should go check out the music ingame. Its really nice:). Or RuneScape currently! Its christmas and now talk to Explorer Jack and do the Christmas Quest. The Graphics there are great. Well the music... go to this website for good music. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKZUql1zqf8] Here's the translator. I speak 3 languages.
I look up from the rooftops, and feel the sun's warmth.
Looking into the sky you can feel the energy building up inside!
Wait sorry I feel that this is out of the thread I'll post it somewhere else.
Sorry. Really sorry.
