I'm not judging anything by their content, talent, or persons... but just from their Twitter profile I can tell how well they'll get along with half of the Escapist. Which is going to be like oil and fucking water. I've got a bad feeling about this.

Honestly, so did I. But it got dropped [sup][sup][sup][sup][sup]huehuehue[/sup][/sup][/sup][/sup][/sup] because people complained it added nothing to the site and the views were pretty low. Shame really, it was nice to have Slo Mo Guys-esqe content on here.

Well, it sure didn't take long for the sycophantic ideologues to pop up and try to derail the thread, huh? It's a good thing folks in charge of The Escapist are of a higher caliber than most in their field, or we might never have been able to hear from people with moderate and dissenting viewpoints to that of the media personalities using their platforms to push a divisive political ideology. It's also a good thing that these forums are filled with a better brand of forum-goers, or we might very well have had a thread that completely devolved into a frenzy of reactionary politically-charged comments condemning these folks with all the subtle nuance of a sledgehammer to the cranium. You know... before they've provided anything at all.

Instead, we get to happily welcome a couple of internet content creators in the mix who bring with them two established bases of viewership and the renewed hope that The Escapist does, in fact, have plans for how to fill all the newly-punched holes in their content lineup. Plans which do not, as I once feared, include a BuzzFeed-esque slosh of clickbait bullshit and sensationalistic wanna-be journalism.

So welcome, Lizzie! Welcome Brandon! I greatly look forward to seeing what sort of good stuff you intend to bring to the barren wasteland that once was the Weekly Schedule here at The Escapist.

It's not worth getting into yet another petty argument, but I'd just like to point out that I'm pretty sure "sycophantic" isn't the word you're looking for, since it basically means someone who is eager to suck up to the people in charge.

Remember when Jim first came over here? The first 5-10 videos were full of comments that basically amounted to little more than "who is this fat fuck and why is he so smug and condescending!?!?!"

That turned around pretty rapidly, so who knows? But yes, if anyone is surprised that The Escapist is cynical about something, they haven't paid a lot of attention to how things work around here.

Anyone who finds it unbearably difficult to manage giving someone a decent greeting can keep their sarky remarks to themselves and go and sulk in their echo chamber until they remember how to interact with other human beings again. Nobody needs to hear your contempt for the new staff just because you hadn't even heard of them before GamerGate. If you can't stand the way The Escapist is going, feel free to leave and spare everyone your constant cheap cynicism and negativity. It won't be missed. In fact, you'll be doing people a favour.
