Accents that are hard to identify.

I know a lot of people from many different countries, but sometimes I get the sound of the accents mixed up.

It's hard for me to tell the difference between and American and a Canadian accent.

And oddly enough whenever I hear my Brazilian friend talk, I think Russian...odd, I know.

Any of you ever have a hard time picking out someones accent?

Not me, but I've been told I sound like an Asian from California. I don't get it either. You can blame Turtles for it...

People can't ever tell where I'm from

Most people either think I don't have an accent whatsoever or they think I'm from England.

I am from England but I don't have an English accent.

I can never place the South African one, just because I haven't heard it that often (i.e. District 9 was the first time I'd ever heard someone with a South African accent for a longish period of time).

Also, I've noticed that lots of people who try to do a Welsh accent end up doing something that sounds more like a stereotypical Indian/Pakistani.

My accent. When I made my recent Brain Dead video review people at first thought I was American, then Scottish, then English, then finally Irish.

Some Americans in Boston thought I was German. For some reason some Poles at the place I used to work thought I was Albanian in both the way I spoke and looked.

*Sigh* America, English, Canadian.... these are not accents. I'm glad no body said british though.... I find it difficult to decipher specifics from most londoners and people form around london. They sound so similar. They are different accents though.

I am mistaken for scottish by people from the south of england often, even though i am from Manchester and sound nothing like a scottish person

It's hard for me to distinguish a South African accent from an Australian one. To me S.A. sounds like a really weird Aussie accent.
