Everyone and anyone is an acceptable target.

Political correctness is one of the least beneficial inventions of modern society. People having to clean up their language and thoughts to avoid potentially offending anyone. What does this solve? Absolutely nothing.

Instead of attacking issues that need to be discussed, people are shutting their traps and keeping opinions to themselves. Those that dare to speak their minds are ostracized by their peers or in extreme cases, the media. This doesn't address the problem either, it just sweeps it under the rug. This is not the correct course of action towards achieving happiness, tolerance, or understanding.

This sort of thought breeds people to think cautiously if they are in a position of broadcasting their own thoughts or creations. It's no longer a pure, uncensored thought, it's "maybe I should change (x) because it may offend (y)". I had no idea that we all had to become representatives for the interests of these groups, all without having a legitimate understanding of what their desires are. Oh, but it's completely acceptable to offend (z)! Does that mean that (z) has a sense of humour and (y) doesn't?

This video is a perfect example:

If everyone learned to lighten up and stop taking their lives so goddamn seriously, maybe we would be enjoying the benefits of true 'Free Speech' as opposed to this overly-safe melting pot. All with the benefit of discussing these issues openly and honestly without fear of "your ignorance is hurting my feelings".

At the very least, there would be less 'closeted' discussion about these sorts of topics. I find the closeted discussion far more contemptible than the most offensive joke I've ever heard. And you know it exists. Chances are, you or members of your family are guilty of it.

But alas, the message isn't important. Just don't hurt MY feelings.

Everyone. No one is above criticism or mockery, no group of people, no organisation, no belief system or ideology; If I *can* mock it, there is a flaw in it which its adherents/members/believers are ignoring or are happy to overlook.

Can't mock maths, Can't crack open a book on Trigonometry and sarcastically rip it to shreds.

Hell I'll mock the OP for being a hypocrite within two damn posts of his thread - Way to draw attention to that, bro.

The Westboro Baptist Church, politicians, hipsters, vegetarians, vegans, and organised religion in general. They all deserve it, to be fair.
All these basically. Also Nintendo fanboys.

Vegetarians, any group that says that a animal has rights that deny me to use my ability to digest meat that has developed over millions of years of evolution to give humans an edge in the survival of the fittest are insane in my eyes, also, my friend Rylan, it's so easy to piss him off (in a joking, fun way), if we argue, I'll use inane, nonsensical arguments that are technically right to beat him.
Oh God, are you one of those people who assumes all vegetarians are preachy and preemptively shouts "For every animal you don't eat, I'm going to eat three!" before they've even done anything?

Because that's my answer to the OP: people who assume that everyone who has a different lifestyle than they do is only doing it because they think they're morally superior (or for some other nefarious reason, like they want to "destroy America"). I have met so many of these people, and I really can't say anything good about that type of aggressive, insecure mindset.
No, but I can see why you think that, when I express an attitude similar to that to any group of people I tend to just mean the ones who are very vocal and self-righteous, even if I don't point this out.

Err, zombies. You can shoot em in face and not feel bad.

Any group that abuses or wants to abuse other peoples rights is an acceptable target to me.

I will take the piss out of anyone or anything including myself. Nothing is sacred to my sense of humour.

Extremist groups, bigots, elitists and those that infringe upon the rights of others. Besides that, I generally couldn't give a shit. If you're just going about your business and not really harming anyone then I don't really care.

Anyone should and can be a target, equal rights means everyone gets treated the same way, which is generally like crap.

You either get offended and carry on or grow some wits and return fire.

So, what are your acceptable targets? Groups that you feel comfortable making jokes about without fear of backlash?

Well... I cannot tell any joke without someone giving some backlash. It is impossible, someone will always react if I tell it enough times.
Sure you can, watch I will do it right now. I feel that the Westboro Baptsist Church deserves to be burned to the ground with everyone inside as it does.

You've basically named many of my acceptable targets PETA and Nazis. My biggest target by far is Westboro Baptist. A group of people who are the counter to every free speech argument and continue to make America look like a bunch of crazy hicks. Crazy as we may be, WB and Fred Phelps are a special crazy.

Everyone within reason. I don't walk up to a black history parade and shout the N-word at them, but I will point and laugh if there is a watermelon stand on their route.

All groups can be made fun of, but there is a difference between joking and just being cruel. Its one of the reasons so many bullies don't see themselves as bullies. I personally believe that we should laugh at ourselves as well as others and not take things quite so seriously all the time.
