Everyone and anyone is an acceptable target.
Political correctness is one of the least beneficial inventions of modern society. People having to clean up their language and thoughts to avoid potentially offending anyone. What does this solve? Absolutely nothing.
Instead of attacking issues that need to be discussed, people are shutting their traps and keeping opinions to themselves. Those that dare to speak their minds are ostracized by their peers or in extreme cases, the media. This doesn't address the problem either, it just sweeps it under the rug. This is not the correct course of action towards achieving happiness, tolerance, or understanding.
This sort of thought breeds people to think cautiously if they are in a position of broadcasting their own thoughts or creations. It's no longer a pure, uncensored thought, it's "maybe I should change (x) because it may offend

". I had no idea that we all had to become representatives for the interests of these groups, all without having a legitimate understanding of what their desires are. Oh, but it's completely acceptable to offend (z)! Does that mean that (z) has a sense of humour and

doesn't?
This video is a perfect example:
If everyone learned to lighten up and stop taking their lives so goddamn seriously, maybe we would be enjoying the benefits of true 'Free Speech' as opposed to this overly-safe melting pot. All with the benefit of discussing these issues openly and honestly without fear of "your ignorance is hurting my feelings".
At the very least, there would be less 'closeted' discussion about these sorts of topics. I find the closeted discussion far more contemptible than the most offensive joke I've ever heard. And you know it exists. Chances are, you or members of your family are guilty of it.
But alas, the message isn't important. Just don't hurt MY feelings.
