I've never really talked to him, but the comments I've seen, and from what I've heard on this thread, suggests a man who deserves the exact opposite of the state he finds himself in. He has my genuine good wishes, and I will be regularly checking this thread in the hope of good news.

I've really got nothing to do in this thread - I do not know ace_of_something as a poster aside from last year's ask a policeman thread, which was amusing enough compared to most shit one gets here...

But your post made me smirk... being a lurking loser that I am, I've went through a whole LOT of threads where people - a lot of prominent posters here on Escapists - just spam and spam their wishes for other people's deaths. Y'know, pretty much any crime-related thread has it. "OOO, castrate the offender, feed him to the dogs, rape him in the eye, burn him alive! Rabble rabble rabble".

While I'm not sure if you're one of those posters - I'm not keeping a list, y'know - you still sound very hypocritical compared to the apparent overall feelings on Escapist. (That was totally not a strawman... but hey, at least there are some facts behind it)

I don't feel it right to wish someone to death.

I haven't posted that I do wish such on any thread to my knowledge, so your detection of hypocrisy is unwarranted. I understand what you mean though.

Not much I can add to this thread that hasn't already been said, but it can't hurt to say it again.

Hope he pulls through and I wish him the best of luck. I have seen him posting around here before, though never really knew him, as a poster anyway. Though after that "As long as I can move my fingers, I can still finish Demon's Souls" comment I wish I did.

Again, I hope he pulls through this and I pray for his full recovery.

That's awful news, I didn't know the poor guy was battling SLE. My thoughts go out to him, his family and yourself and hope he gets better soon. He's been a wonderful member of the Escapist and no-one deserves to have this happen to them.
