Achievements and 1000G

Not a big fan of the Xbox's achievement system and I'm somewhat saddened that it's started to creep onto the PC with GFWL and Steam. As my posts in other threads make clear, I don't like playing a game the way someone else wants me to play it and I don't like having my play directed like that. If I get the achievements, great, if I don't get them, that's great too.

halo 3 (i was determined to be a complete ***** on the online stuff till i got it but now its lost its fun)
bioshock (when i wasnt hiding under a table)
mass effect (only cus it helps in the game)
skate (that one was easy)

Not exactly the best or hardest games out there i know that. By the end of August i aim to have alot more games on that list, like Gears of War 2 and Fallout 3. I did have 1000/1000 on halo untill they released all that DLC!

It doesn't necessarily have to be achievements, it can be anything that you personally consider to be impressive that you've done in a game.

The achievment I'm most proud of is the Vanilla Crazy Cake from Portal. That's a Steam one though.

It's also an achievement on both the Orange Box and Still Alive versions of Portal.
OT: I've only gotten 1000 gamerscore in 2 games: Halo 3 and Fallout 3, and I only managed that through the DLC.

Only Fallout 3 for me, Alot of people have 1000G for CoD:4, is it any easier than CoD:WoW? I cant get past the second level on veteran :S

i dont know if its easier, but I got to the sniper mission in CoD4 before I gave up out of frustration.

Great news, I earned the Nothing Special achievement in Left 4 Dead today, so that's another game that I can now add to my list.

I've never gotten all 1000 in any particular game, but I'm pretty proud of some of the individual achievements I've gotten, and my 10,000+ overall score.

Orange Box- "Little Rocket Man"

Halo 3- "Vidmaster Challenge: Annual" and "Campaign Complete: Legendary" (at the same time)

Left 4 Dead- "Man vs. Tank", "Untouchables", and "Crownd"

Gears of War 2- "Artist of war" and "Hoard the Horde"

Mirror's Edge- "Test of Faith"

Mass Effect- "Long Service Medal" and "Power Gamer"

Dead Space- "One Gun"

Far Cry 2- "Dr. Livingston, I presume"

Halo Wars- "Halo Historian" and "Wall of Recognition"

Fallout 3- "The Bigger they Are", "The Nuka-Cola Challenge", and "One Man Scouting Party"

The closest one I have to 1000 is Fallout 3.
The only achievement I'm proud of is beating SF4 on hardest difficulty. That's about it.

The only game I'm even close to 1000ing is RE5, but they went and added 200 more to screw me over.
