ACIII - What did the templar want

So I've just finished Asssasin creed III and two things that really bother me

- What was the templar plot all along? I mean those in the Revolutionnary era

-Why is Connor still chasing after Charles Lee by the end of the story?

To the first question. The Templars want to make revolution and the founding of America to go in their direction. This is why all of the the Templars are put into high positions with in it. They were going to build America into a "Templar ruled Country" (or atleast run by Templar ideals).

To the second question. Connor hold Lee personally responsable for his mother's death.

But did Charles Lee actually had anything to do with the burning of the village? cause I though Washington was the one that ordered it and Lee actually was just around at the same part looking for the vault
