Anything Kratos kills via QTE or with the grapple button.

Though it wasn't a death, Raiden in MGS4 at the end of the Shadow Moses chapter.

Bioshock. You know what I mean (would you kindly?)
and there's a death scene in Bioshock 2 that tugged on my heartstrings. :(

haha how many times did liquid die in mgs?
Bear in mind that through all of this he's wearing nothing but army boots, natty trousers, flowing blonde hair and his authentic evil English accent. Screaming SSNNNAAAAAAKKE!!! all the way.

You shoot down his Hind, blow up his Giant Mecha, then throw him off the top of it, shoot him in the face with a machine gun, ram him with the Jeep it was mounted to...

...then after all that he dies of a heart attack moments before killing you (and you don't even get to die once!).

Mario's death has created a catchy little tune that is synonymous with failure around the world, so I vote for him.

And Kratos killing just about any boss from any GoW is just naturally awesome.
Fixed for you. And this.
Ha, I guess you have a point. Still, I think the epic evisceration and death in three was even better than one or two (although they were still awesome).

General Francis X. Hummel in The Rock.

And The Shower Scene in The Rock whenCommander Anderson does his EPIC pistol last stand thing while crawling along the ground. He probably has the best death cry EVER.

Starcraft: Death of the Overmind. It's not the Overmind's death that's epic, but Tassadar's. He pumps a carrier full of light and dark templar energies, and then plows it into a massive brain like creature that is supposed to be immortal. Also, if this information is a spoiler to you, then I feel deeply sorry for you.

Maybe instead of everyone having to use an annoying spoiler tag we should just make it clear that a thread about scenes with death will be an inevitable spoiler but anyway
my favourite death scene in a video game woud be how Ganondorf is killed at the end of the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

My favourite one must be the Cerberus Death cutscene from Blood,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwGtzJGri1c
(sorry evryone, i dont get the spoilertags to work)

so brutal and messy, cut off by a Bruce Campell'y one liner, by an undead cowboy that'd make Kratos cry.

Basically all deaths in Heart of Darkness.
Especially the one where the big shadow monster gulps you up and your leg is dangling out of his mouth.

This statement is truth. Brazil is awesome.

It had Michael Palin, too.

ENORMO-SPOILERS INCOMING. Just mentioning the game title will probably spoil it, so here goes.

John Marston's death at the end of Red Dead Redemption. Never has a game death hit me quite so hard, probably because I'm one of the lucky few who didn't have it spoiled, which is why I wanted to be so careful about it. I cried manly tears because it was just so sudden. Think about it, Dead Eye throughout the game has made you invincible. Giving you one moment of Dead Eye lifts your spirits only to cruelly stomp on your pathetic ideals of hope. It truly was the death of the West.

Shepard at the start of Mass Effect 2
I must go with this. I never fail to wince when his/her suit springs 'leaks' and begins to de-pressurize. The pain is almost palpable, and really well conveyed through his/her movements. The silence of the vacuum just adds to it.

Been playing Mass Effect 2 of late. Ever fought an YMIR Mech and taken it down with a right-between-the-eyes headshot with a pistol or sniper rifle?

Well, go do that. Enjoy the fireworks.
