Hearing this doesn't really make me wan't to buy the next cod. I am on the fence about Black Ops and knowing how greedy the people who make it are. Doesn't make me want to buy anything more from them.
They might want to start working on their public image.

Am I the only one glad that this is finally a reality?

LOL I love this line! They think that us gamers are stupid or something ( Granted there still people out there that will buy it ) but damn, such greedy B@$T@RDS!
Don't dare make the assumption that gamers A) won't pay and B) aren't stupid. Most of the players play on 360, what does that tell you?

So what does one receive as "premium" content for a game as shallow as COD? A bloody assassin to break the necks of all squeaking, bilious twats?

Looking back at when I played COD4 online, there is not a single, realistic thing they could do to make Call of Duty worth paying monthly for in my eyes.

I drive past the BP station to fill up my tank, and I shuffle right past the Activision titles when I'm buying games. Life is too short to give my hard-earned money to fucking assholes.

Hahaha

Computer players will find loopholes around this if it happens :p

Good luck console folks xD

(The irony is that I don't play MW2 anymore, I just want to hear the cries of "Death to Activision")
I was watching my mate play MW2 yesterday on his PC and his screen-name was Activision. No shit he fought a guy called Modern-Warfare and he kept owning for the entire match, so it kept saying 'Activision killed Modern-Warfare' on the little post board on the screen. We were just laughing our asses off because everyone else on the server kept laughing as well. It was just such a cruel joke.
'Twas pretty cool tho. XD

They DO think gamers are stupid, however there will always be people to buy whatever they put out.

They could announce a new feature where you link your credit card to the game's "uber" button that makes you have 3x health and 3x damage while you have it turned on then later bills you for how long it was used. Then to make it even better have competitions with cash/fame prizes where the competitors can set the uber button to any amount of health or damage, the amount of money increasing proportionally to their power level of course. People would buy tha, and it's sad.

To be fair all this will be is you get all the DLC included, some avatar items, some bonus gun. REMEMBER this is ACTIVISION you will also be able to get all of this subscription based stuff buy buying it seperately but it will just cost more.

The games by AC will start to seperate the premium from the basic users and then no one will buy any of their games. People will go back to buying other brand games and as a result game designers will start putting effort in again (like they did in xbox/ps2 days) when they realise people will actually start buying their games.

It's probably only good news for the gaming world, Activision dies a death after an initial slowdown and we all get higher quality independent games

----edit

this will also most likely begin with the new bungie/activision release, some bland, disposable space shooter FPS MMO

edit- AND the new $35 cinematic release of all the cutscenes from a game edited together...

Every time Robert Kotick does something stupid, a kitten in Mongolia dies.

Modern Warfare 3 is the last CoD I'll ever buy. After that, it's over for me and that game series.
That's being stupid. Make whatever the last CoD you bought the last one you'll ever buy.

It's all very well for us gamers to say "never again" - but it is quite another to act upon those words. I am determined not to get another CoD game, but unfortunately - those games are like digital smack in terms of their addictive gameplay.

But I think it'd be worth the while of every gamer to tell Activision that they are charging too much as a result of Bobby Kotick's unrestrained greed. We gamers have a voice, and if we all use it - maybe, just maybe - Activision will hear it.

Perhaps 4chan may even help if someone were to ask them nicely - I bet a few of them don't like being ripped off by Mr Kotick.

I think Activision can be brought to heel - but it's going to take a LOT of effort on the part of every gamer here. Even the PC gamers may want to join in - because if it's happening on consoles now, there will come a time when they get charged for map-packs and so forth.

I really want to know what happened to Soap. The single player's the sole reason why I'm going to buying it
