How the hell could they possibly cancel Guitar Hero, and True Crime? And United Front studios for that matter! Call Of Duty seems to be the only thing giving Activison a major profit. Anyone smell a mass boycott?

Well, this is Activision. They whip a horse until it is not only dead, but a decomposed carcass. When something stops making crazy money, they will pull the plug.

When a company makes a decision you don't agree with, in order to make more money. They are not evil!
They are being a company, you know, the whole basis of the western economy.

Yes, there are game companies out there, that act a bit more subtle on their goals, but can we please stop calling it "evil".

I'd rather they took the responsibility of canceling development of an unfinished and failing game such as True Crime, rather than say "screw it" and cash in - *cough Bad Company 2*

Because Guitar Hero had become a poor, sad shadow of Rock Band. The series had become redundant and simply couldn't compete.

Also, please, by all means, start an internet boycott. Not only will it totally work, just like it has in the past, I bet it'll take Activision down a few pegs and they'll think twice before trying this kind of thing again.

The law of Diminishing returns. You might still enjoy Guitar Hero but the number of people who are willing to pay $100 on a yearly basis to get the new fake guitar and not actual music game is dwindling. You can only do the same thing so often before people get sick of it. If you really love Guitar Hero so much you might want to check out "Frets on Fire", it's a sort of PC version of it but you can use a program to put songs you want into it.

Activision own Blizzard so I think they are doing fine on the profit side of things.

Count me in, I'm officially at war with Activision. Not because of Guitar Hero, but because of True Crime

Very true. It is also one of the reasons I don't want a kindle or an e-reader. If the platform isn't performing well enough they will stop supporting it. At least I'll still have my paper print books!

Still, I'm a bit sad to hear the same thing about Rock Band. Guess I should get what songs I can now. But really, we did slow down on playing it some time back.

I've already been boycotting Activision for a couple of years now, ever since I learned that Bobby Kotick is the antichrist.

Never cared for these titles ,there must be a reason why they did what they did ,they might have done some 'evil' things but this isn't one of them.

How could it not do well? Barring piracy, they're still selling books like mad. Hell, if I wanted to, I could replace every book on my multiple bookshelves in my room with a small end table that has my Nook on it. And the thing wouldn't even be close to being full. Convenience is what is selling e-book readers (not to mention that my textbooks for this semester in e-book format would have been almost $200 cheaper). My mother got one and now can carry it around instead of three books when she goes on business. And people who are saying that they're killing the book industry and destroying publishing jobs are just idiots. Books still need to be published in order to be released. If you feel like typing something up and throwing it online for people to read, you're not going to make any money whatsoever. Books will always be printed and always be published.

I guess what I'm saying is that e-books are just another way to enjoy the medium. Much like buying an Xbox over a PS3. You're still playing games, just in a slightly different way.

I approve of the cancellation of guitar hero. Maybe now we'll see something ELSE come out of Activision.
