When they make CoD a persistent world is the day I'll pay for multiplayer. Until then I give them a sound "lol no".
Check out Dust 514. That will be a pay to play MMOFPS in the vein of Planetside, but by the makers of Eve Online. Looks to be awesome.
Will do. Oh man, let us fondly remember the good times in Planetside. Aaahh.

TBF MAYBE its a pay-for-dedi server option for PC through IWnet for clan matches, likely just a dedicated host for a private match, read clan game.

Har har har. That's the first thing coming out of my mouth when I'm told to pay for online gaming. Followed by variations of Richard, sex, and various farm animals. Unless I get free DLC every 2 months, constant mod watching for hacker security, not a drop of lag, and maybe a nighttime story, I taint paying. I get my online services for free (thank you Sony), if I was a xbox owner, I would go through the roof and to the moon.

We just need to find the root of evil and kill it. I propose we march over to Activision and kill Bobby Kotick.

"Our gamers are telling us there's lots of services and innovation they would like to see that they're not getting yet. From what we see so far, additional content, as well as all the services Blizzard is offering, is that there is demand from the core gamers to pay up for that," he said.
Yeah, some of the services Blizzard offers that I would like to purchase include paid sex/race/name/faction changes.

Please implement these for COD, now.

Are they seirously trying to compare FPS to MMORPGs now atleast with WoW when your paying monthly for WoW you know you are getting a shitload of content and support not to mention well hosted servers.

Why would you pay monthly for a fecking fps why would you ever not just go to another one or play one of the previous Modern Warfares that just blows my mind who would ever think such a thing a good idea.
He didn't say that though. No where in there did he say pay us more for the exact same experience you are having now. He said they felt there was demand from consumers for more content at a price. Say for instance Call of Duty 10 was played in a persistent world that you could effect with your actions or if you were a subscriber you had access to some handy new features. I don't think it's necessarily a good move and defiantly not a good time/way to announce it without more details, but if you are going to criticize at least read it properly.

Exactly. I really don't care though. All CoD games have been console rentals for me, and it will stay that way. It's a bit sad to see though that gamers will gladly bend over and let publishers assfuck them just so they can play a decent game.

Yep.... total horseshit.... I can swallow $5 a month to play EVERY GAME I BUY online... but I could never swallow the WoW fee, and I would never pony up for something like this. I also avoid most micro-transactions and DLC.

Just give me the core game that I paid for and stay out of my wallet. I just get the feeling that CoDiots will do it anyhow.

I am a PC gamer, but it will be the console gamers who happily luaghed at us for being elitists over dedicated severs who will probably come out of this worse if they do start charging, they already get charged for just about everything else.
Damn straight we do. I'm a console gamer who never made fun of PC Gamers, because at least of the fact that they removed Party Chat from multiplayer. I'd be sad if I got lopped in with console tards who just thought that because IW were only giving the PC Gamers Console Shit, it was OK Shit.

I pay for... Patches, DLC, A lack of mods, the party system, the Game Marketplace, the ability to play any multiplayer or co-op and for everything you get free on the PC. If I have to pay to play the multiplayer that I already fucking pay for , Activision can suck my wallet, because if they want money for me to play Multiplayer, they can get it from Microsoft, because I'm not paying two companies for one service.

360 users (including me) already have to pay for online, and if it goes that way with the PC, well, you, sir, can fuck off.

"there is a demand from its core fanbase to pay for additional services."
There's also a demand, from the core fanbase, for Activision to get a stick and shove it has deep has they can up their ass.

It won't happen, COD fans will jump ship to other FPS games if it does. Ah the horror of becoming a Battlefield fan.
