Jessica Alba. The woman can?t act and, as far as I?m concerned, is only still getting work because men perceive her as ?hot?.
I'm actually going to take a moment to defend Nolan North here. The problem isn't so much him, but more on how he is cast. So while he can be hired to give a bland and uninspiring performance such as Desmond in Assassin's Creed, he can also do a lot better if called for it.Amethyst Wind said:Nolan North. I've never really liked any character he's voiced because they're all such colossal tools.
The fact that he keeps getting work when he only has one voice is equally annoying.
Dammit, I knew I was forgetting something. That's right, he was phenomenal in TBL.SecretNegative said:I would agree were it not for The Dude. Seriously, how can you not love him?Hazy said:[
I see what you mean. For me, that was Jeff Bridges prior to True Grit. You'd see him in a movie and go "Hey, it's Jeff Bridges... again..."
Tom Cruise was the one I was going to say. I really can't see him in any movie and see him as whatever character he's supposed to be. He is and forever shall be "Tom Cruise--the crazy Scientologist apologist who needs to never smirk again."FalloutJack said:Tom Cruise is Tom Cruise crazy, and frankly something about DiCaprio creeps me out.
I actually tend to find him quite annoying, partly for that exact reason. He's just an annoyingly high-pitched dweeb.Sir Christopher McFarlane said:I'm tired of people not using Michael Cera to portray more awkward guys in their films. He's perfect.
And by 'recent performance' surely you mean 'every performance'.Dangit2019 said:Hey, did you guys see that movie where Tom cruise played a flat everyman character? Did you also see the one where he plays the superskilled professional?
Cool, you've seen almost every recent performance of his.
To this and all others who have bismirtched the good name of Johnny Depp I give you one film to prove his brilliance:Johnny Novgorod said:And by 'recent performance' surely you mean 'every performance'.Dangit2019 said:Hey, did you guys see that movie where Tom cruise played a flat everyman character? OP: I read the thread title and immediately thought Johnny Depp. Looks like I wasn't the only one. Johnny's a good actor but I think he's abused his deadpan style to the point it looks like sheer boredom. And he does tend to play every character the same way, give or take a couple of Sparrow movies - he's either naively enthusiastic or grim and broody.
Great one-time performance indeed but he seems to lazily walk through every other role. Even his Jack Sparrow shtick everybody was raving about 10 years ago is getting old at four movies and a fifth coming up.Axolotl said:To this and all others who have bismirtched the good name of Johnny Depp I give you one film to prove his brilliance:Johnny Novgorod said:And by 'recent performance' surely you mean 'every performance'.Dangit2019 said:Hey, did you guys see that movie where Tom cruise played a flat everyman character? Well what do you want him to do with Jack Sparrow? Play the character completely differently for the sequels? It isn't Depp's fault that the way he played played a pirate in a film based on a theme park ride ended up being so entertaining the studio won't let the character die.Johnny Novgorod said:Great one-time performance indeed but he seems to lazily walk through every other role. Actually, if you watch him pre-Pirates (which, in the first one, he did a VERY good job in) he is actually an extremely versatile actor. In Ed Wood... Christ one of the best performances of all time. Its just that now he has been given this quirky quota that he seems to have to fulfill to widespread film audiences expectations.Pinkamena said:Depp only seem to be able to play a single character.
