Indeed. Everyone knows that due to the unusually high concentrations of grimness in the local environment, crops are exceedingly hard to grow.
There's even trouble at the relatively grimness resistant mills.

AND STOP MISTAKING US FOR AUSTRALIANS
Speaking of this, someone on here tried their hardest to reassure me that Yahtzee definitely does have a thick Australian accent. It was funny, but I really couldn't work out at the time how quite a clearly-British accent could be mistaken for an Australian one.
That's really funny. It says in he description of the vids that he was born in England, and the point also comes up several times during the series as well.
Well they knew he was English, but they'd thought that his Australian accent had become really strong in the X number of years he's been there.

The family guy ones can vary with me. Sometimes I find them brilliant and can't stop laughing. Other times I just want to kill the writers by impaling them on a flag pole (with the glorious and wonderful Union Flag raised.)

Case in point - the one with Nigel, the pub owner - I hated it...until I saw the hilarious resemblance to the Anti-Christ, Tony Blair. Then, it became funny.
The American Football ep - where Peter moves to London though - not the best.

I think the best family guy Brit stereotype is a small bit clip, in passing reference. (I think its )in Big Fat Paulie, after a mob guy gets killed in a drive by, Peter suggests moving to England because;
"aaw, the worst they gotta put up with is drive-by arguments!" - que what is possibly my favourite clip, of said argument.

To be fair though, look at how most Brits label Americans - gun loving, bible waving, etc...
You mean like this?

Ugh that's disgustingly patriotic! Unfortunately it's pretty true in some places. And the HUNTERS. The state I went to high school in had a day off every year for the first day of Deer Season.

Now if you'll excuse me, I see a buck outside my window that's still breathin'!

I was in Mexico last year on holiday.

The Yanks treat Mexico like us Brits treat Spain: nearby place in the sun with free alcohol and strippers (generalizing, not stereotyping)

What really got me up was that, according to those with a distinct American accent, I was from England (with enormous stress on the "E")

No.

I'm from the United Kingdom, of which England is a part.

Yes I drink tea (milk two sugars, PG pyramid bags only)

No, I don't say "spiffing"

(now if you will excuse me I must nip down to the brewery to pick up my latest batch of fresh lager)
Dear Lord almighty...I swear, if anyone ever posts that pic again - I'll dig my eyes out with a spoon. Or, as its easier, I'll batter them to death (then eat them! Cos, aparently, us half Scot-Yorks only eat food if it'd fried and battered...)

You think the yorkshire spiel is bad from Yanks? Try it from people in your own country.

Everytime I mention I live in Yorkshire, most people ask if I'm a farmer (I have no easy to identify accent, its sort of a mix of Edinbourgh, West Yorks and posh...)
Best yet, I frequently get asked if I'm friends with the Cast of Emerdale. Or Corrie (which is stranger, since its in MANCHESTER!)

Oh you silly English. "Mam! I can't get the telly to work! Where did you put me sweets! There are too many adverTISments!"

Oh I'm going to hell.
(For clarity, I have nothing against the Brits, have a few friends who are)

CANADIANS DO NOT SAY EH! And if we do it's rare, not with every second vowel.

And we don't all play hockey, I don't, I hate it, and most of us don't live in igloos and some of us hate Tim Horton's.

Though we do all love poutine. It's fries, cheese and gravy, how could you go wrong with that!? It's three levels of awesome!

This man speaks sense; listen to him.

I also noticed that Family Guy thing, but I don't think they meant it to represent what British people actually say. It's meant to play on the stereotype (Cause, you do, the Brits are classy, no exceptions).

Thats her actual voice, it's Joanna Lumley a quite famous british actress. I would also like to point out I have an absurd posh voice also. Fact is, I think Britain has far to many accents for it's own good.
Not that I'm too familiar with accents, or posh voices, but I think she sounds quite nice and not faking it at all.

Besides, speaking as someone who grew up in Rhode Island, please allow me to assure you that they get almost everything wrong or exaggerate for comedic value.

I enjoy comedy stereotypes most of the time, because after all: there's no smoke without fire.

But Family Guy gets the British stereotypes wrong - Its not that I mind being stereotyped (Arrested Development stereotypes we Brits excellently) but Seth Macfarlane et al just seem to make the stereotypes that they apply to the British out of thin air.

The end result is that the joke that was intended is reduced to something completely meaningless and unfunny (Note: not offensive) which is sad.

Furthermore:
I'm English and have excellent teeth.
I do speak with a posh accent - expensive education will do that to you.
I do not know H.M. the Queen personally;I would like to though.

If you're referring to Ohio. A big reason that deer hunting is so big is because all of the predators big enough to prey on deer got displaced by humans. So hunting is the only thing that keeps them from overpopulating. Not to mention venison is friggin delicious. It's like beef, only better.

As far as stereotypes go, I'm a college kid who's never been outside of North America, and I don't drink, smoke or party.
Where did the stereotype of the "Boy Scout" come from? All my troop ever seemed to do was come up with creative ways to destroy stuff.

What's with pyramid bags anyway? If you're going to be a snob, use loose tea, if you aren't what does it matter? Though I have to thank a friend of mine from England for introducing me to some of the London teas, before I went Russian-style (Kusmi FTW).

The worst British stereotype is drinking tea. I hate tea.

Also, a lot of British actors end up staring in American T.V series/films, which shows that they lose there accents well.

Americans being British on the other hand...

Anytime somebody who isn't from Britain does a British accent.

It's always a cockney accent (awight guvnar!) or akin to Pip of South Park fame.

It's a bulletproof recipe for pissing me off.

Heh, American here. And I love me some tea. I guess it comes from being raised in Georgia.

I think all English stereotypes should be based of the film Snatch, sure it may not be true, but it's at least a lot cooler.

I once saw an American couple touring the area and the kept thinking they were in London and pestering me for a meeting with the queen.

One of these days...
