Just a tossed idea cause the movie left itself just open enough for me to go there.

Oh, and Of course.... SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!!!!!!!

The end of TDKR is open enough... Batman is now a Symbol, Robin could become the next Batman, or he could simply follow in his shoes and creates his own Identity (Nightwing for example). This franchise is over of course, i don't think it's coming back... i think DC wants to push the Multiverse thing and try a Justice League movie, so they need to rework Batman for that...

But here is a funny thought that came to me when i placed the end of the movie next to the scene in the beginning with Bruce with a Cane... in a way that i think could even allow for a multiverse. So hear me out...

let Robin become Nightwing and work Gotham. At some point, it becomes too much for him (a new villain takes it to the next level) and at that point we're introduced to Terry Mcginnis and his story.

you can put 10-15 after the Dark Knight trilogy and that would work just fine.

At that point you have Terry's story and Nightwing not being able to handle this new kid who wants to be Batman for his own cause and reason... at that point, Bruce comes back in order to prevent the Batman Legacy to become tainted by a Hotheaded kid with a bloody vengeance in mind.

The catch is that Old Bruce from Batman Beyond should be Played by Kevin Conroy on screen.

Just let Joseph Gordon Levitt be Nightwing, dude was great as Robin Blake. Bring in Conroy as the perfect Batman role the man deserves and CAN play on a big screen and give Batman a new story that otherwise might never see the Theater release it could deserve.

I can't say for sure it would be great or even good... but i would sure as hell be Hyped if i heard something like this was in the works.

Hell, this might be pushing it but... if you wanna go full blown all out here, just Bring Hammil as the Old Joker. He can do it...

But yes, I've been dreaming of a live action Batman Beyond film for years and I would love to see it done.
It's a damned shame there were so few seasons of Batman Beyond, it was a bloody amazing series that somehow made "YOUNGER TEEN EQUIVALENT OF FAMOUS SUPERHERO THAT ATTENDS FULL TIME EDUCATION" really good. Like Young Justice, they managed to make a teen equivalent good. Kinda similar with Teen Titans actually.
Now that I mention it, DC seem to be quite good with that.

Oh, right. I would love to see that, but I'm going to have to say that Kevin Conroy does not look anything like old Bruce. At all. Mark Hamill does look strikingly similar to middle aged/old Tim Drake though.

What C'mon, he may not be like the Cartoon Bruce wayne, but he can pull of a great Older Christian Bale

When I first read the thread, I thought, "no way." But now I find myself wanting this to happen.

Plus, shit, we get to see Joseph Gordon Levitt being awesome like he always is. It would be perfect.

I wouldn't mind it. If they made it the futuristic thing from the comics and series it'd be a little incongruous with Nolan's stuff, but the idea of Joseph Gordon-Levitt being a Terry McGinnis analogue sounds like a pretty sweet concept.

I think the Robin John Blake character isn't...close to Terry in about anyway.
My brother and I came to the realization he is more of a Dick Grayson analogue than anything (IN fact Dick was on the police department for a time,)

I think a completey seperate movie could work really well. If they keep the style of New Gotham and the music I would love it. Future gotham had this...kind of odd glitz and dirt to it and I think if we saw more of it that it would be awesome. Expand on Terry as a character, keep Max as lovable as she is, Dana is great, Bruce was awesome (I love every time he interrogates someone and you don't see it, but whatever he does with that cane is horrifying...so awesome)

I definitely felt he was like Dick too, but I figured if they were adapting Beyond it'd be like Terry. He does feel a lot like Dick, though.

It certainly could work, bringing a third character into play to be terry could be too much to have 3 Protagonists working independently on screen...

Either way the Aesthetics are fine, i just wish they would fix the Batman visuals...

Like, instead of using super serious military armor, let Batman create a Kevlar-like cloth that is super resistant and cheap to make. So that he won't allow the large populace have it as to prevent bad guys from having it.

And let us stop the age of the Black eye paint. Just cover his eyes. Like in the Cartoon mask. Done right it will look menacing and awesome. Also, right now, Batman can be defeated with a well timed Flash of light... also would allow him to have his "eye gadgets" like in the Arkham games.

And learn to use the cape! The Nolan movies the cape gets less and less care, in this last one it's just there cause "its part of the costume"... batman is a detective ninja, the cape is to cover his arms and confuse enemies while cloaking in the shadows. Allow him to do so!

If they do at least that in a reboot, i'll be ok with it.

Interestingly, a Batman Beyond movie was one of the proposed movies after the disaster of Batman and Robin, among many other ideas (including a sequel to B&R that would of brought the Joker back to life). Nolan's ideas, however won the studio in the end.

There was apparently an idea kicking around for a Scarecrow film long before BB...Schumacher probably would've made him an actual scarecrow or some rubbish.

Is it too soon to suggest something like this? By the way, I haven't seen the movie (Dark Knight Rises) yet...

If they did do a batman beyond movie, JGL shouldn't be in it at all. Beyond was all about Old Bruce and Terry working together and mentoring each other.

I think OP has his dates slightly wrong for a true 'Beyond'. If you set it maybe 20-25 years after the Nolan trilogy ended, then you could of had Robin/Nightwing patrol the streets for maybe another 10-15 years, then leaving a good period of time where Gotham didn't have any Batman presence at all, ready for Terry to stumble upon it as he did in the opening to Beyond cartoon (which would make for a great movie opening too)

In Beyond we saw in the batcave that Bruce had all the costumes from his partners, meaning that Nightwing/Robin had hung up the cloak by then.

The concept is interesting but the dialog could use a good bit of work and the actors you chose were terrible no offense. A bit of sound would go a long way for this to help build tension and set mood and the effects made the action feel like thick thick cheese especially the "euh's".

The lighting was great but the angles fell flat at times. Also the batman costume was really interesting I totally dug the helmet but the rest looked like a childs superman costume with a different design. I think if you used some sports apparel it would have gone a long way things like shoulder pads etc.

The voice overs were really clear but lacked depth as everyone sounded like they were the same distance from the camera.

Also and now I am getting nit pick but the story makes no sense either since the Joker is dead in the Beyond timeline. He made a appearance through Tim in the movie but that came and went in the span of the movie so it still makes no sense.

Hey.. thanks for the reply and critisms. In our storyline we have a new Joker.. referred to as "Joker Jr." by the Riddler that basically tries to emulate the original Joker from the old timeline. The helmet was a great design by our guy.. but I agree.. since the rest of the costume was fabric (although there are hockey shoulder pads attached on the arm) it looks a little out of place.

Ok well then the Joker makes sense so that is cool. Sorry if I was harsh I don't intend to be a dick if it is any consolation I tend to be really hard on all film. My gf even gets annoyed at me cause I have a tenancy to point out flaws and continuity errors in movies constantly. My many years of film classes have made me a harsh critic. Anywho your idea is solid and you did some things very well I don't know if you had your friends acting but they were the weakest part of the film to be honest. Also don't be afraid to do some extreme angles they go a long way in drawing interest and helping the audience understand the situation. To many mid shots will make things stale.

TBH, even though I'd love to see JG-L continue on as "Robin", the Nolan trilogy is done. DONE. And more than likely DC is going to reboot the series as a whole for the Justice League continuity, starting with MoS. Yes I realize Nolan is "involved" in Man of Steel, but I seriously doubt there's going to be tie-ins related to the Dark Knight Trilogy.
I for one hope they take the route MovieBob suggested and not re-introduce Batman in his own movie and take their time building a continuity worth watching rather than re-hashing and cutting up Nolan's series.
And no, I don't want to see a Batman Beyond movie, as much as I love the cartoon, its best left untouched as it is. I don't think any movie could really do it justice.

Has this thread just become a plug for this Batman Beyond short film that keeps popping up?

OT: Batman Beyond is popular among diehards... but I have serious doubts that anyone is willing to take up Nolan's franchise after he's straight up said he's not doing anymore, and if they did, it certainly wouldn't be a niche IP like Batman Beyond.
