OK, that's what I thought, I just wasn't sure. Thanks for clearing that up.

Fuck that shit.
Haha well fucking played asshole, well fucking played ;D

I started frequently swearing at around 15 when I realized they were just words so what difference does it really make? it kind of bugs me when I hear 12 year olds saying fuck every 4th word thinking they are 'cool' or 'hip' or whatever those damn kids say these days.

Also, fuck.

I just think of it as a moral thing. But I agree with the people who are saying that imposing an age-limit only provokes them to break the it.

You know what you should have done? You should have told him to go swear in front of his mother, then. Kids like that make me rage...

What a fucking shit idea. Oh, arbitrary age limit reached, sudden influx of swear words. Doesn't work. Swear words are silly anyway. Most of them have just been arbitrarily assigned as being offensive.

The age limit is being old enough for you to say it without people laughing at you for looking ridiculous.

10 year old Halo and CoD players, I'm looking at you!

If there was a scale on which the swearing in the sentences could be compared to age... I wouldn't end this line in the proper way that I did. Swearing isn't always bad, it's a relief of frustration. But just swearing because you can, now that is a whole different thing.

If the kid is in 4th grade, he's at the "swearing is cool" point in life. The less you try to stop him, the sooner he'll grow tired of it. Just make sure to hold off on swearing yourself.

I've cussed for a pretty long time, and I've used a bit heavier stuff than "damn" and "hell", which I don't consider really...y'know, to be very heavy stuff, even for a 12-year-old.

Also, I don't like really cussing as much as I should. It does make stuff more dramatic and accentuated like that, but the reason I don't like it often that much is perfectly exhibited in this thread: people use the word 'fuck' too much when trying to cuss as much as possible on purpose, and not inventively enough. Gets on my fuckin' nerves (harr harr).

Tell me about it. The older you get, the stupider it sounds too. When college kids do it, they're practically labeling themselves tools. When adults in the street do it, you can tell they've already lost at life. When it happens on the internet, I just assume it's a fourth grader.

Argh! Forgot to quote again.

I don't like kids swearing because it seems to be all they say.

I swear, anyone who reads my posts knows i swear. However i try my best to use it very sparsely. So if i say fuck its obvious i am putting a lot of force or emotion behind the word rather then just running my mouth.

When in my own house i swear a fair bit more. When in public i rarely if at all swear. If i am at the college or around kids i don't swear either.

lets face it at 12 your just about to or have just hit puberty, you have just gotten out of elementary school and are heading into either jr high or middle school..... as far as you are concerned no more recess means no more recess teachers, that along with the other two changes means I can say what ever the "FUCK" I want when I want. ( that's the mentality of a twelve year old boy in the USA, I know because I was one as were all my male friends.)

That said, I was 13 when my mom first heard me swear, funny thing is, I stubbed my toe and said "shit" and she got all offended, and despite my dads insistence I didn't see why I had to apologize to her because I had sworn at the floor, if anything I should have apologized to my dad who INSTALLED the floor and even then an apology still didn't make any sense.
