Fighting game bosses.

You'll be having some fun little sparing matches with some other fighters, with an occasional spike in difficulty, but then you get to the last boss, and you hit a break wall of freaking continues. Ridiculous moves, teleporting, super armor, long range, 50% damage moves or more.

SNK games are notorious for this, but it happens in all of them, either it be Seth from Street Fighter, Rugal from King of Fighters, Inferno from Soul Calibur, the whole lot of them...

And what's even worse is that when you finally unlock them, they usually arent even that amazing, so the computer really just is a huge cheating ass.

I can tolerate them but oh boy, do they infuriate me.

Invisible walls, shin high walls you can't jump over, cutscenes where the protagonist screws up and you have to pay for it, and escort missions.

In Red Dead Redemption...

Somehow, in someway... some freaking person... can see me kill the banker with a throwing knife through three houses, a wall and a door. They come to investigate! They don't see me through the window, but see me through the freaking door that's closed! They then proceed to tattle-tale before I can kill them. And even if I do manage to kill them... another takes its place like a bunch of cockroaches would!

I swear to God! It's like they have the Shining or something! Needless to say I go on a rampage shortly after killing everyone - even the ones that respawn - until I run out of ammo. Then I lasso the pissants and hogtie them, set them up in a row and wait for the train.

Whew... glad to get that out of my system.

This can be applied to all systems of stealth that's broken or just downright stupid.

[sub]Why can't the bandana hide my identity? It protects my fame and honor... so why do I still retain a bounty? Did they ever bother to explain that?[/sub]

Campers/spawncampers.

As an RPG fan, it really pisses me off when series decide to "reinvent" themselves between iterations, dropping the things that made them fun in favor of ungainly mechanics.

The Final Fantasy franchise is particularly guilty of this, seeming to take an approach to new games of incorporating everything that DIDN'T work in previous titles and applying minor tweaks, while dropping everything that did work.

Though, maybe it's just that I was a huge fan of the systems in FFVII, Legend of Mana and Chrono Trigger and really wanted a chance to try them out with other characters or other settings....

And, also, games with a New Game + feature and only 1 ending. What's the point of offering a brutally easy playthrough of the game if there's no real reason to do so?

This. This alone is the sole most frustrating thing I know of, save perhaps that 'Tip Box' which shows up every freaking time, despite the fact you know exactly what to do.

Using all my resources to fight a particularly hard boss, only to discover that I was supposed to lose/bring it to half health.

Also in RPG games, where your debuff (status ailments and stat-down) spells never fucking work, but the enemy's debuffs always work on you.

Why do final fantasy games even let you learn slow if it never works?

NOT ENOUGH AMMO!, sweet jebus is this driving me nuts!

I have recently acquired doom 2 on the XBLA and i'm loveing the crap out of it...that is until i hit this one level and i'm out of ammo...well not completely out, i have 3 shells 23 bullets and 17 cells, not exactly the supply required for the mass murder waiting for me around the corner of my last save

God i wish i had another save not on the same level T_T

Cheating AI mostly and above all, i not met a game that was so badly ported i could not stand it.

I will point to vanilla ARMA 2 when it came out, when grass, shrubbery, etc gave 0 cover from the AI, you might as well been standing with a bullhorn and day glow colors out in the open for all the good that cover did in that game vs the AI. Toss into that the sniper rifle accuracy of heavy mounted gun emplacements and the fact that cover meant squat and the fact that most AI would spot you long before you spotted them and you had AI campaigns that you make you scream so loud that your neighbors thought you had lost your mind.

Cheap and cheating AI is just so bad in games because either you have to save incessently and reload constantly and hope you get lucky just to make it thru or overcome the AI's supernatural luck and skill. Or worse yet have games with checkpoints where your stuck replaying a certain part over and over to overcome cheap AI.

I hate it when my all-powerful Oblivion character has to keep some random level 5 character alive, and it's even worse when that level 5 is convinced he can slaughter the Dremora army if he just charges hard enough. This is especially painful in Oblivion when my character, able as he is to carry 700 pounds, could simply store a few NPCs in his bag of holding until the danger is passed.

Also, I hate severe bugs and crashes on console. It's more tolerable on PC, I guess, since every system is different. But Bethesda or Valve should know what an Xbox 360 can do, and program accordingly.

In JRPG's THE BOSS no not the final boss I mean THE BOSS that one secret ************ that is hidden someplace in the game and he makes the final boss look like a complete pansy 4 example Dragon Quest 8 had that dragovian guy or Margaret in Persona 4

Oh yeah and weapon deterioration I really HATE that
