I didn't like her either, but the games Ubisoft showed were good, probably best of the press conferences, despite the poor hosting. You don't need to chuck a tantrum and insult the poor girl for doing her job. She probably shouldn't have responded either, makes her seem a little insecure, can't give the internet trolls even the slightest scent of that...

But seriously, Ubisoft... When you going to get some decent hosts for your conferences. 2010 you had Joel McHale who looked about as excited on stage, as I do at the Dentist. 2011 you had Mr Caffeine, 'Doodly, Doodly, Doo', enough said. 20120, we have 'girl wood' and an endless amount of forced jokes, and awkward moments that left me cringing. Not to mention the other guy, who is supposed to be some internet celebrity, I think he just made it worse.

Great conference, needs better hosts.
Y'know what's funny, the only jokes that didn't seem forced were when she was making fun of Tobuscus. Those jokes were thrown out casually, and were actually funny. If she acted that way throughout, it would have been excellent. That and dropping the whole 'girl wood' thing. Talking about getting a boner is creepy, no matter which sex does it.

She got pushed by the retards that dwell within our community, and she pushed back in style. Fun read.
Of course, this means that a million hate threads will now arise.

Eh, she should've never responded to them in the first place. Responding to ignorance only fuels their stupidity fires. Too bad we couldn't make a laser that sterilizes them.

I thought she did a good job hosting the conference, and I wished that dude wasn't there, he was annoying.

I really don't think she should've responded to them since that tends to make things worse, but I read that earlier today and I thought it was awesome.

She gained major respect points from me.

For someone that had nothing to do with making or contributing to any of the games, she sure did say "we" a lot.

Boy, E3 is stupid.

Rather than bicker about how new/old the information is, I'll add that she has my respect as well. I've genuinely liked her in much of what I've seen her do and don't think she's due any of the hate she's getting. I mean, yes, it's 2012. Girls are legally allowed to love games and be public about how much they enjoy them.

Of course, if you legitimately thought that she did not do a good job, that's fine.. but then give examples, reasons and thoughtful suggestions for who would have done it better. Hating on a host, even a terrible one, doesn't do any good if you can't actually say why they did poorly and can't offer any idaes for improvement.
I agree, I think she does a fine job in most things she does, as well.

However, I really don't care if she plays games or not. If she is "hardcore," then fine. If she just plays the Sims and Angry Birds, that's great. That really has nothing to do with her hosting abilities in my opinion.

In fact I thought, at first, she did a great job (said as much in the comments on Gamespot.com during the conference, in fact), but then it seemed like it became about awkward "Tobuscus" BS and "girl wood" (yes, she said that). On the whole, it was a lot better than Mr. Caffeine's hosting abilities, but the Ubisoft conferences always seem forced and sophomoric, humor wise.

My problems are more with Ubi's conference activity choices than how the host handles the material they are given.

It sounds to me like she is skirting near the danger zone.

Couldn't resist.

OT: ...Is this the same Aisha from Saints Row? That would be pretty awesome.
I don't think she's that Aisha, but she is Lana from Archer ironically enough

This reminds me of a closet homosexual showing off his massive biceps and tons of firearms showing how MANLY he is.

If you were secure in your gaming, you wouldn't feel the need to respond to trolls with a profanity laced diatribe that doesn't validate you as Ubisoft's host, and even less as a gamer.

It's a mix of childishness and insecurity.
And I'm going to have to disagree. If she ignores the stupidity, then what happens? Sure, most of the non stupid gamers would just not care or not even know, but what about the people that see gaming as evil? Well, they'd just point at the stupids that infect the Gaming Sphere and basically point and shout 'Look look! See how bad these gamers are? They all are racist, sexist, pigs!'

And truth be told, we gotta stop sitting back on our asses and letting the stupids talk. So go her.

Haha great read, but seriously I think she is now just going to get more abuse because of it.

I can't really say much more than "meh". What's special about this, really? It's just her reciting a couple of games she's played, then saying she didn't get paid.
It's more her meaning she's been playing games since most people flaming her were even born, thinking she's not a 'real gamer'. Personally, I found that absolutely hilariously brilliant. I also couldn't help but read that as her yelling as she does in Archer.

Who is she again? Seriously? Anyone?
Lana in Archer. She's been in a few other movies that I remember her from, but I can't remember the names of the movies, and CBF looking them up.

I didn't watch E3 so I didn't see her host the Ubisoft Conference. I have never heard of her until today. I don't watch a lot of TV or movies either so that could be why.

I think she and Toby had the best conference this year. She was obviously ten times more exited at what she had to say than any other presenter. That Toby did an excellent job playing the awkward background kid only improved the experience.

I guess that's good and everything, but all in all, it won't really change anything. People going on about her not being a "real" gamer (what does that even mean?) won't stop because of this.

I admit I'm blatantly uninformed on this subject. Why are people saying she isn't a real gamer in the first place? Googling returned only this rant, so that's a dead end.
