Hardly a measure of quality or monetary worth.Ghostwise said:FFXIII= 60+ hours of gameplay.

That can be done in nearly every FF or a similar strategy so FFXIII would not be exclusive in this(I have yet to play it. In any FF I don't think that is really a valid complaint as you can win game by taping on the confirm button if you are a high enough level.)666Chaos said:That sounds about right. Except even when your not in a cut scene you dont actually do anything. You can actually walk away from the game for nearly every single boss fight minus the summons and come back and he will be dead.Ponch said:Ghostwise said:FFXIII= 60+ hours of gameplay.

I believe you mean FF XIII = 60 hours of cutscenes.
Just kidding (or am I?), I haven't raelly put much into the Final Fantasy franchise so I would recommend Alan Wake. Why? I don't even think I could give you a good reason.
Im not sure what to recomment but I can say that I enjoyed FFX but I found playing FF13 to be about as enjoyable as cleaning up the dog shit in the back yard. Extremely annoying and whiney characters who keep forgetting they have an aussy accent and a story that doesnt make any sense unless you read the 5000 page glossery do not make for a good game. Although if you want something mindnumbingly boring that will last you for 60 hours then by all means go get ff13.
Alan wake is not a bad game but its not extremely long. Its fun while it lasts but you will get mabey 2 playthroughts from it about 15 hours worth. Neither are worth buying in my opinion but alan wake is atleast worth the rental price or a cheap used copy.
This has nothing to do with what i'm asking. I really enjoyed the Final Fantasy series but i've gone off it and i didn't like FF12 at all and really want FF13 to redeemm JRPG's for me.Danzaivar said:Simplest solution for parents: Make Silent Hill 2 the gateway game.
When they're old enough to play through the whole of Silent Hill 2 without crying, buy them games they're too old to legally buy.
Problem solved!
I wasn't really refering to you in the bit I have put in bold but was more speaking general of the Escapist's communities seemingly open and mostly unfounded hate towards them. While that's fair enough and you actually have a reason for not liking the game most FF boss fights can be won by use summon and mass attack. Like in FFVIII all you had to do was Meltdown-Aura-Rezokuken and in FFVII it was Quatra Magic and Knights of the Round Table and then Mimic and FFVI can't remember the name of the spell but it made even bosses disappear in one hit.666Chaos said:I actually like alot of jrpgs but in ff13s case you dont even need to hit confirm your party will kill any boss on their own. What annoyed me is that they make a game that you cant control your party in only 1 character and they dont even need you at all to beat the game. Atleast in most other jrps and ff games if i leave it unpased for 30 mins the boss battle wont be over when i come back unless its real time and im dead.Glademaster said:That can be done in nearly every FF or a similar strategy so FFXIII would not be exclusive in this(I have yet to play it. Also I love the way many people still love to openly show their hate to JRPGs more so Final Fantasy with most not giving a reason. You did give a reason atleast. Also more people should say why they actually liked it as that doesn't really help discussion either.
I found the demo to be very boring and the graphics poor for this generation even though i'm not that much of a graphics whore.Bible Doctor said:I didn't particularly like either of them, give Crackdown 2 a shot.
